Why not? That's what you're saying it costs. What's the difference if it's listed on the menu instead of hidden behind some obscure social contract?

I agree it would suck for the workers in the mean time, but I think the labour market would adapt pretty quickly if servers actually started making $3/hour. No one would want to be a server and restaurants would be forced to pay competitively if they expect to hire anyone.
I think stopping patronizing those restaurants altogether doesn't send any clear message about why it's happening. Maybe combined with some large-scale public campaign, but on its own it wouldn't achieve too much.

Ah interesting! Yeah fair enough... either $3 or $7, it's gonna be real tough to staff those positions.

Heat pumps can't take the cold? Nordics debunk the myth
Hell yeah, we've got a heat pump and we're in Canada where it can get to -40°C (which is coincidentally also -40°F) and that thing works like a beast. Fortunately we also have the cheapest electricity in North America so the decision was easy.

And let's not pretend that prisons don't regularly disregard inmates dietary restrictions, even the medically necessary ones. It's easy to laugh at this one because 'haha vegan' but it's still atrocious to ignore any dietary restriction, let alone such a common one.

The problem is the guy at the helm (Carney) is basically a Conservative in a Liberal hat. Years ago his policies would have fit squarely into the Conservative agenda, but the latter swung so far right with their anti-immigrant, anti-trans, tough on crime bullshit that the Liberals nominated a moderate conservative to lead the party. Carney is perfectly happy with all the things you listed sadly.

The mistake in all of this discussion is making those who are circumsized feel ashamed about it at all. No one should feel bad about being circumsized.
Now that that's out of way, that's a pretty weak counterargument. Your justification for why we should keep doing it is that society prefers it? That's exactly the thing that's finally being pushed back against. It's inherently a barbaric practice that serves no medical purpose (for the large majority) and is purely aesthetic, and we're doing it to newborn babies so they can look like their daddies and keep the social norm alive.
You don't have anything to feel bad about and it's great that it hasn't been a hindrance for you, but as soon as one generation stops, your argument will be moot.

Usually this bot is great but this is a pretty big one to miss:
And the same week NASA’s report came out, Mexican lawmakers were shown by journalist Jaime Maussan two tiny, 1,000-year-old bodies that he claimed were the remains of “non-human” beings. Scientists have called this claim fraudulent and say the mummies may have been looted from gravesites in Peru.

I feel like that's a very gradual gradient. Is it only when Christmas is a fundamental part of the story?
For example your comment makes me think of the "Die Hard isn't a Christmas movie" people, but it would have been a completely different movie if not for the office Christmas party.
