Your phone told advertisers you were located at Lowe's using GPS. Then your credit card company told advertisers you bought drill bits. If you looked up any cabinet door handles in the past, that data was given to advertisers too. They put all those pieces together to serve you more ads on drill bits and cabinet door handles.

Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang says electricians and plumbers will be needed by the hundreds of thousands in the new working world
When I was 16-22ish, I knew everything. I was sure of it. I had it all figured out. Everyone was an idiot except me. I tried giving everyone advice because I had the best advice.
Then reality kicked me in the ass and brought me down a couple pegs and I realized that I was so incredibly wrong. I'm just a guy with limited knowledge and the world and universe is so vast and different that no one can "know it all" or even come remotely close.
I'm so thankful for that. Otherwise I'd be a fucking moron with a dumb leather jacket waxing poetic about skilled trades as I pretend that next word guessing chatbots are the pinnacle of humanity's creation.

Wrote up a full guide for running AI locally on Windows (LM Studio + Ollama + Open WebUI)
You want to charge real money for a slop guide on using slop machines that you made with a slop machine? 🤡🤡🤡

Your wife probably searched them online. The advertisers got your public IP address to display ads of what was searched. It's so subtle and people leave digital bread crumbs everywhere that it gives the appearance that the phone is listening to you.
Truth be told it's more processing power and work to stream and auto transcribe everyone's audio from their phone. It's effortless to just scoop up all search and purchase data.

Mint is for older laptops, "based on Ubuntu"

I've got fedora and bazzite running on Surface Pro 5 and 4 without any issue. Touchscreen even works on Bazzite which was unexpected. Maybe the laptop is doing some weird things under the hood :(

I've got bazzite running as a desktop OS and have done so for years. Not everyone is running virtual machines or modifying system files. Some people are using their computers for regular desktop stuff (like gaming, web browsing, photo and video editing, etc.).

If you host a server and have a lifetime pass, you'll be able to share your collection with anyone. It will allow hardware encoding so less lag on your users end. You can also locally download content on your devices to watch offline.

New Study: At Least 15% of All Reddit Content is Corporate Trolls Trying to Manipulate Public Opinion
The ebike subreddit is modded by the owners of Lunacycle. They actively remove posts about bad customer service/other issues from Lunacycle. I witnessed them name and shame some random redditor and accuse them of fraud because they posted screenshots of email correspondence that pointed out shady dealings on Luna’s part.
They use the general subreddit for electric bikes to funnel everyone into ordering from them.

Why is everything in consumer / American life so fucking shitty now - and companies literally just say 'oh bc profit margins' and we're now expected to swallow that and sympathize?
That’s the end result of a capitalist system once corporations have superseded governments in power. It will only get worse.

Meta’s AI Problem: A Growing User Flight
My mom keeps sending me AI videos of animals doing silly things. I tell her it’s AI every time.
Her latest response: “Oh everything’s AI with you” and now she’s mad at me. We’re cooked.

Is anybody else more active here then they were on Reddit?
Every comment I would make on Reddit seemed to get challenged by someone looking to start a long-winded argument as they were, in fact, the main character of the universe.
I like it here because so far, people are nice. It’s like the first day of high school and everyone just wants to be friends and meet people.

Itch.io are seeking out new payment processors who are more comfortable with adult material
This is the start. Mastercard and Visa will soon block you from other content like movies and music (if it’s explicit) and books.
They are at the whims of religious extremists.
