Its a pretty broad question, like asking why you like video games or shows. Different people like different aspects of cars. Some use cars as a canvas to shape their car in a specific way that expresses their tastes. Others for their mechanical abilities.
Personally I like the driving experience. I appreciate a built up car, more then just a car bought with huge chunks of money. It shows more effort and personality of the owner tuning their car for a specific purpose. I also like a nice show car. Its like an art piece.

Immich mobile app sync V2
Reply in thread
Can't really comment on the older versions since I recently deployed the server. However from the past couple of updates, the background syncing has improved on the Android version. Before I had to open the app for it to sync but recent updates now upload media without me having to open the app.
For the app itself, works pretty well. There still seems to be bugs or weird UI changes like adding to albums disappeared when you click a photo or video but its there on the grid view if you hold the file.
Overall it seems pretty stable and it has a dedicated app in both iOS and Android. Use to use nextcloud with memories before.

Isn't brave supposed to be "private"?
Don't a lot of browsers by default have pings set up to track usage? Check the privacy section. There is usually a check box about sending daily pings to whatever company made the browser to track usage.
Not sure about the variations though

The way apple is now, you would only be able to print (wirelessly) through Apple products. And probably also DRM ink cartridges on a "security" basis.
Old Apple is not the same as current Apple.

How to work out
Reply in thread
+1 Making a habit of just exercise/going to the gym is the most important step. Do whatever is appealing to you on the first couple of weeks. Make at least a 15 minute session and repeat for the first couple of weeks.
Once you have some kind of habit of just going then you can begin focusing of what you want from the gym. If doing weights is your goal, technique is more important than weight. For cardio, just slowly increase the speed or volume (time) you work out for. Small steps are easier to stick to than going big at first.

Linux is awesome at home, but aren't y'all forced to use Windows at work?
Its not my machine, so I don't really care. As long as it doesn't prevent me from doing the work, then that is the employers problem what OS they want to enforce.
On my personal computer, I run what I want and will continue to do so where possible. Hence, why I like using Linux.

how much do you donate to the apps you use?
Yearly budget of $200 for any apps I constantly use. I split the amount between the apps. Donate more if I have extra funds.

Just finished Alan Wake. Not what I expected from the game but overall interesting. Somewhat like the idea of making it like a TV Show. Short but story was decent.

Should work, although haven't tried Teams or Outlook, but I would recommend putting it on a different profile, you can make multiple users, then enable the google play store on there. Leave that as you work profile or google profile. Helps keep things separated.

Any other Windows or Mac users here?
I use all 3. Mac and Linux on my personal computers. Strong believer in use the tool that works best for the situation.
Battery life was the saling point for the Mac, software is whatever, I try to avoid all locked in features and software. Prefer Linux due to flexibility. Windows has annoyed me with all the crashes, slow performance, and increasing need to dump shit on us. Only use it personally when a game doesn't work on Linux.
At work, its just windows. I use WSL when I need to do some coding outside of a browser. Most of the time its noticeably slower than it would be on Mac or Linux but not my computer, so its whatever.

CachyOS Is Now the Most Popular Desktop Distro on ProtonDB
Is it worth nuking my PopOS to try CachyOS?
I like the stability of Ubuntu and a lot of projects usually have deb files officially, like Signal. However, my start up time on Pop is oddly long and have Bluetooth issues (which is fine as I dont use it very often).
I was on Bazzite for a bit. It was fine but the immutability was a bit annoying for me when editing files. Then on Nobara which was also fine but plasma crashed on me several times which caused me to repair it each time in order for it to work again.

Guess code review and troubleshooting. Not really sure, I have only really used it for code templates and ideas for troubleshooting to look into.
The most use I found is rewriting documents in a specific way. But only after I write it first. Then go back and forth. Just to make tone consistent.

To add to this, doing some light exercise and spending some time away from busy life, like in nature, can also help improve mental well-being.

Matter 1.5 update brings support for smart home cameras
Reply in thread
Yes, it let you connect devices to your smart home interface, that don't support ZigBee or Zwave, without having to download a 3rd party app. The new protocol Threads also uses Matter for connection.
