Mainly trotskyists, anarchists and ultra-maoists. It's basically when an ideology focuses more on idealism, dogmatism and utopianism than material conditions.

Those movements tend to have stupid expectations for any socialist state, and they will more often than not support (sometimes by actively fighting for them) a capitalist or even fascist country rather than a socialist state they don't like.

Maoists are probably the more respectable of the bunch. They're fanatics, but they also do attempt seize state power and develop socialism in their own way.

I don't think much is gonna come out of it yet. There are riot of that intensity twice a year on average in France. Nonetheless I support this movement, even if it's not a big thing in my area of the country.

It's things like those that little by little weaken the establishment and build class consciousness. Eventually one such movement will reach the breaking point, but I don't think we're there yet. Maybe I'm wrong, we'll see.

PS: The revolution is most likely to come from impoverished minorities such as immigrants in France, especially as they and their descendants are absolutely massive in term of numbers.

Yes, exactly. Socialist states have been a net positive wherever they've been established. They have consistently enjoyed widespread support by the people, always raised the standard of living of the population, increased literacy, advanced sciences, encouraged brotherhood between peoples...

But there are of course reasons why most of them aren't around anymore. That is why we have to study their practice, analyse their mistakes so as to not repeat them, compare those states that ceased to exist with those that still do, and use all of that as a theory for our own movements.

I personally think that death is like before one was born, nothingness. I would say that that belief has helped shape my mentality that you should do everything you want to while you still can. There's nothing afterwards, so gotta hurry up and live while you're alive.

None of us is going to live forever, we won't see how things end up, and maybe that's for the better. I get the fear of missing out on history, that's something that can't be remedied. Just try to imagine the future, remain optimistic, do what you want, find a purpose in life, and you will leave this world peacefully.

I agree with you, except for that we should absolutely judge an ideology by how it is put in practice. We don't take what liberalism pretends to be at face value, because we know that's not how it actually works.

As for socialism, practice needs to be integrated into theory, as has been done by the likes of Lenin and Mao. This isn't a one way relationship.

Sorry for any anarchist out there, but we are perfectly justified to criticize your ideology for its practice. Anarchist have for the most part been an obstacle for the establishment of a stateless society, by neglecting class struggle, supporting imperialism, opposing socialist states, and distrupting the left in general.

I also think it's unlikely for the red army to have literally no support units. Usually artillery and armored vehicles are listed separately. It's pretty weird for only one side to have artillery, and for no vehicles or airplanes to be involved at all in a battle of such size. Not a big deal all in all, but it would add a lot of flavor.

I personally prefer Stellaris. Vic3 is optimized like shit, lacks a lot of basic features and has little replayability. And while there are interesting mods, none managed to really redeem the game in my eyes.

Ck3 is pretty good, I'm just not really into the dynasty and personal relationship stuff. That one is also better on steam, as there are many great mods on the steam workshop and the dlcs are few and unremarkable. You won't miss much by only buying the base game.

Stellaris is better for nation building, with an economic system that's somehow better than Vic3. The politic side of things is rather lacking however. Overall it's a balanced game, with good economy, diplomacy and warfare. Like I said the only subpart department is politics, in which Vic3 is way better. The workshop is also very good for this game, but with the price of all dlcs piracy is also a good choice.

Note: Stellaris' frequent hotfixes and such mean that you're unlikely to be able to enjoy multiplayer if you have a pirated version. From personal experience.

From my experience people tend to have very negative prejudices towards socialism. Therefore if you are trying to convert people, you should avoid being overt about it.

For example my first method is to simply rename terms, if possible according to the world you're writing in. Show socialist concepts as they are in practice, without using any specific term.

For added effect you should portray capitalist media, or whatever is their equivalent in your world, as constantly waging a propaganda war against your socialist movement. Show how they distord terms to the point that no one knows what they're talking about, and how that constant barrage of misinformation renders people unknowing of what socialism truly worked in practice. (I'm precising that last point because many leftists understand theory and all that, but are completely incapable of brushing aside capitalist propaganda when it comes to AES.)

You should also explain why those medias have an incentive to behave in such a way, that's it's not just a few bad apples.

Another way to do it is to focus on the thought process necessary to become a ML. Fight against the great man of history myth. Oppose idealism and put forth materialism to explain why your world works as it does. Reiterate my earlier point about the medias.

Some works are very hard to de-great-man-ise, and I honestly don't have a good idea on how to deal with those. Those aren't really my kind of fiction anyway, I prefer when there is larger world beyond the protagonist(s).-
