Crusader Kings III: Silk & Silver Trailer

Forum Post Link: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/threads/crusader-kings-iii-silk-silver-available-november-17th.1946328/
Included in Crusader Kings III: Silk & Silver

New Government Type: Merchant
Lead a landless merchant family at the head of a trading company, rising from obscurity to greatness and using your wealth to advance the fortunes of your dynasty.
A Nose for Profit: Seek out profitable Trade Routes for over 40 trade goods, slowly expanding the reach of your trade empire as your merchant company grows in renown and wealth.
Decide your Merchant’s path: Choose one of three specializations, each with their own bonuses and unique content; move considerable amounts of goods as a Caravaneer, loan money to rulers as a Creditor or create new artifacts as an Artisan.
Specialize and Thrive: Gain experience in traded goods to unlock bonuses and increase your business acumen to grow your company’s reputation.
Lobby for Power: Use money and intrigue to sway nobles and royalty, seeking patrons who can strengthen your trade empire.
Market Lockdown: Leverage your political influence to gain exclusive rights to trade select goods in Markets, or push out the competition by claiming a complete Monopoly.
Expand Your Mansion: Direct your trading company from your base of operations. Spend gold and prestige to improve its grounds, growing your business with additional trade routes and gain an edge over rival traders.

New Government Type: Republic
Rule over a patrician family in a Republic, where wealth buys power and popularity determines who retains the role of doge. Compete against rival houses by means of law, bribery and the will of the Assembly.
Laws and Assemblies: Set the constitution of your Republic, asking the Assembly to pass laws that control the terms of leaders and uses of the state treasury.
Vie for Power: Secure profitable Trade Routes and put family members into positions of influence to become a powerful Patrician family, allowing you to bend the Republic to your will.
Shape Your Republic: Choose an administration that determines what your Republic excels at. Will you build a seafaring trade power, an expansionist house of nobles or a city-state ruled by the will of the common folk?
Establish Trade Dominance: Set up Trade Posts in foreign counties, bolstering your influence and trade momentum to extend far beyond your own borders.
Forge Lucrative Pacts: Through the new trade system, you can join other Republics in Trade Leagues, bringing both commercial and military benefits.

Two New Bookmarks
1066 - Channels of Commerce: Play as some of the most renowned merchants of the Middle Ages, building trade networks across a world in demand of spices, silk, and silver.
1178 - Guelphs & Ghibellines: Navigate this defining conflict for Northern Italy as one of the major figures caught between papal and imperial ambitions.

Historical Italian Flavor
Take part in civic carnivals to celebrate the greatness of your Republic, and participate in the historical conflict in Northern Italy between the Guelphs and Ghibellines as political factions lead to open warfare.

Afterworld Dev Diary #5 - Bands

Hello and Happy Wednesday Dustlanders! My name is Tudor and I am a game designer on Afterworld. After being an avid dev diary devourer for almost two decades, it is with great delight that I get to pen this dev diary for the first time. Anyhoo… Today I want to tell you more about one of the central features of the game we are making: Bands.

I want to explain how they fit to serve the game vision and why I think they are a very exciting element in the mix!

Tinto Talks #128 - Iberia and the Maghreb: Flavour Content on Both Shores

Welcome to Tinto Talks, the Happy Wednesdays Thursday, where we talk about what is happening with Europa Universalis V.

Here one more week, your friendly Content Design Lead, Pavía. We will be talking for the third week in a row about the content for the upcoming DLC, Across the Pillars, plus some of the new content that is available for free in the 1.4 ‘Río Salado’ update - and that is in Open Beta since last week! On that note, yesterday we released the 1.4.1 Beta patch, with lots of fixes based mainly on your reports and feedback; thanks for that! This is also one of the reasons why we delayed yesterday’s scheduled TT to today - as we needed hands on deck for the patch release.

But not only that, I want to present you with something new for Europa Universalis V that we’ve been working on. Today, at the same time we’re releasing this TT, we’ll be publishing the video Two Centuries That Made Spain: The History Behind EU5's Across the Pillars.

Hello everybody! We're releasing Update 1.20.1 today to tackle issues and balance concerns reported by players since the release of By God Alone and the 1.20 "Crozier" Update. We'll continue addressing your feedback and bug reports, but given the relatively short time until the release of Silk & Silver, we will be targeting its accompanying 1.21 Update release for any changes going forward.

This update is compatible with existing 1.20.x save games.

Check the changelog below for more information!

Afterworld Dev Diary #4 - The First Steps (Part 2)

Welcome back Dustlanders! Today we continue the adventures of the Bunker Cats. Last time they had gotten their first settlement running and food and water processing too.

Having progressed further in the quest chain for Shelterborn, our band also gains enough pride for another custom (we will go into bands in the next diary), where we conveniently have the choice of “Wolf Wardens”, because of our workers harvesting the paw-paw fruits. This adds both combat abilities and skills in cultivation to our band. We are now quite broadly skilled! At the time of upgrade we also had a choice of deepening our skills with machinery and craft, or doubling down for more survival.

Initial impressions of By God Alone DLC and the update?

Sorry to spam the community a bit today but what are everyone's initial thoughts on the dlc?

I managed to play a few hours this morning and really liked it. Currently playing a Theravada Buddhist and the game just feels so much more alive. Started as an adventurer and converted most of Somalia to the faith. Now I am setup as a local theocratic leader under a Somali Buddhist king and converting the former Waaqi holy site of Mogadishu into a new Buddhist one and it feels great! It's so cool being able to develop your own personal tenents and feel the way you play shift with each one. I can see myself spending a ton of time making my own rite and creating new holy sites for it. Definitely my favorite expansion so far though All Under Heaven is a close second.

CK3 - "By God Alone" Dev Diary #8 - Art, Music, Modding, Achievements

Hello! In case you didn’t know, our latest Core Expansion, By God Alone, launches on 30 September, which is tomorrow. Aside from trying to explain why September doesn’t have a 31st, we’ll walk you through several topics we normally cover right before release: Art, Music, Modding, and Achievements - all in one Diary!

We also have some new faces to introduce: a dedicated UGC Experience (UGCx) team has been working hard to improve moddability, and in recent months they've added many features modders have been requesting for years. We'll hear from them later in this Diary.

Victoria 3 – Dev Diary #190 - The Tsar and the Soviets

Hello, and Happy Thursday. Today, Mike and Victoria will be talking about the content for Russia contained within Update 1.15 and the State and Revolution Immersion Pack. There's a lot to go over, from Romanovs to Revolutions, so buckle up as we go through some of the major Russian content coming up! Additionally, please note, as ever, that any screenshots attached are from a work-in-progress build, and certain elements may not be final yet.

Tinto Talks 125 - Cardinals, Crusade & Jihad and Religious Orders

Welcome to Tinto Talks, the Happy Wednesdays, where we talk about what is happening with Europa Universalis V.

Here, your friendly Content Design Lead, Pavía, is back on hosting duty. It’s been a while since April, but I’ll be with you for 4 weeks in a row to present and show the last features of the 1.4 ‘Río Salado’ update, and also the new content and features of the upcoming Across the Pillars Chronicle Pack DLC. It will be a ride, for sure!

As promised last week, today we’ll focus on the update's religious features. In 1.4, the Catholic Church will be less of a menu and more of people: cardinals with names, holy wars with a chest and a leader, and orders that live in your provinces. We'll cover three sections: the Cardinals and Curia rework; the Crusade and Jihad overhaul; and the introduction of a new mechanic: Religious Orders. Let’s start without further ado.

CK3 - "By God Alone" Dev Diary #7 - (Almost) Everything Else

Hello everyone! I’m Jacob, Community Manager for Paradox Studio Black. As we get closer to the release of By God Alone, there are still a number of mechanics and features that we haven’t covered in detail. Several of these developed into systems substantial enough to warrant a closer look than we could fit into our earlier diaries. So today, we’ll be taking a closer look at a selection of those systems. Namely: Saints, Monastic Orders, the Great Schism, and Antipopes.

We’ll also be spending some time on the Orthodox Church and how it is represented in By God Alone. While Catholicism remains a major focus of the expansion, Christianity more broadly is an important part of its scope, with Orthodoxy playing a distinct role in several of the systems we’ll be discussing today.

Tinto Talks 124 - Economy, Trade & Tariffs

It’s another Happy Wednesday! Bring out your spreadsheets and YouTube guides, this week we have some economy to talk about. To give us the rundown on what the economy looks like in 1.4 I’m passing this week’s baton to my good friend Jorge, who is our resident Econ enjoyer and a UX Designer here at Paradox Tinto.
