The Unsolved Problem That is DonaldJMusk is Manipulating Votes in His New Comm

Reply in thread

I ran through as much of the legwork I can on that about a year ago: https://lemmy.world/post/40009107

I admit I'm not a mod or admin so I don't have information you don't. I'm just paying attention to somebody who does not want the spotlight shown on their activities. The comms they share is one of the biggest tells: his accounts post 90% in comms his accounts already mod.

PapaSkwat is a repeated name in this comm as he won't let go of his old tactics of banning people from his comms for things they post in other places or for downvoting one or two of his posts. There's more than a handful of comms over the last year that only contain his sock puppets posting back and forth as he runs off commentors for calling him out for using AI to fabricate the post, or for posting low quality right wing sources like the DailyMail. DonaldJMusk can't help but be DonaldJMusk which is why I wasn't happy with just blocking and leaving them alone. They kept popping up. They're still popping up.

All they have to do is create a new account and be less of an asshole and I'd have no idea who they were.

If you want to become invested, I could attempt to distill the last year's worth of investigating but I admit without mod/admin evidence your skepticism probably won't be satiated. This goes all the way back to lemm.ee/c/conservative and is full of subjective comparisons of writing styles and suspicious timings between accounts that shouldn't know the same things.

Don't be sorry, I'm a thorn in his side as much or more than he's a thorn in mine.

I think new accounts may need more restrictions put on them. They shouldn't be able to create a comm and maybe there should be a downvote quota for the first 30 days. I've seen a few people suggest you pay for an account to create it, but I'm not a fan of getting money involved in any way. The solution obviously can't be to just notify the admin, mrmanager doesn't give two shits what DJM is doing.

For the most part, I like how piefed is doing it.

For everyone else's sake:

I blocked you back on lemme as DonaldJMusk. Then more DonaldJMusk accounts began appearing.

Let me say this simply. If I block one account, a different account won't be affected by that. Even if it's the same name on a new instance.

So I blocked more of you. Then I started seeing a new conservative comm popup with a single mod that would lose arguments and ban their opponents with the same modlog entries each time. One day I'd see an argument and the next day I'd see half an argument, the other user banned. I blocked those accounts and comms too. I was tired of reading the failing side of one sided arguments.

What really changed was when you privated the conservative comm so other people couldn't post. That's when the astroturfing really began. You wanted to tell us conservative news but you wouldn't let us post conservative news. People would downvote and you'd start banning people for that. There was no way to disagree with you. A user in your comm had 2 options: take your side or be thrown out. This is why people call you fascist.

The names were new, blocking wasn't stopping you, I left Lemmy for awhile but there's no going back to reddit. Instead I decided Lemmy was worth fighting for. Months and dozens of accounts later here you are still playing dumb. I'm not giving you the power to shut me up. As long as you're a problem, I will be ringing this bell.

https://lemvotes.org/

This site lets you put in a link to a post, comment, or user and see their vote record. If a vote is taken back it won't be displayed here. The person who runs it supposedly removes instances/comms/users who ask to be removed so occasionally you'll get a 404 on a legit post. If you look up a user like say [email protected], you'll see the votes they've put out into the world like so: https://lemvotes.org/user/[email protected]

The link has to be from the author's instance so if I posted a comment on Lemmy.world, I would have to use the "Share comment" button to get a link from my Lemmy.Today instance for the page to work.

DonaldJMusk was hit by a downvote army and in that account's own words they believed it was [email protected] that did it after the user deleted their account. You popped up a little while later after DonaldJMusk borrowed some of my other accounts, like QuantumTickle and ProudAntifa. I assume these names are borrowed from other trolls. When you looked like a duck and quacked like a duck...
