Canonical's New AI Tool Wants You to Talk to Ubuntu Instead of Type
I actually think this is good as it is local and not cloud. I have wondered for years why this has not been implemented. I believe it might set a new standard as what should be included in a distribution. Just imagine how this can help old people that usually type slow. Yes, I want Jarvis as well. Just easy to install but not preinstalled.

Why choice of Linux distribution matters
I wanted to say Kubuntu but cloud not during the transition to Wayland. A few key features were missing. That required kde 6 to be fixed. At the time the next Kubuntu version were a LTS release so it was not going to include kde 6. Only solution were to choose something else that offered that but still were not bleeding edge. Fedora were the answer. Kept using since then. Also alogns a little better with my value of how things should be done like not so bloated , no snaps fight and BTRFs for backup.

the war on computation
Here is my list of what any device really should have:
If the Operating System don't agree - there MUST be a way to install alternative OS with a SINGLE BUTTON CLICK.
Oh, god. Think of what kind of world that would open up with this simple rule. The device could be a smartphone, Windows machine, termostat, or a dishwasher. Anything would never be obsolete anymore and all users can be happy - a machine obeying the user. Wonderful. Please EU fix this!

Windows 10 reaches 70% market share as Windows 11 keeps declining
How many % of these 70% can't upgrade to windows 11 due to hardware limitation?

What is a nifty little feature modern gadgets have lost?
Real buttons that you can feel. Hence could use them without looking at the screen.

You do know you can just click the "reject all" button, right?
I don't get WHY I have to choose. Default should be reject all. If there is no reject then just accept it. How hard can this be to get on the Internet?
I hate the cookie popup.

Microsoft wants to hide the 'Sign out' button in Windows 11 behind a Microsoft 365 ad
Microsoft got to much time on their hands. Can they please work on the more important stuff like completing the transition from controlpanel to settings?

NotJustBikes uses Linux!

I was surprised to see him promoting Linux as well. People should not be shy about this.

Not everybody knows how to build a PC or how to install Steam OS on it. Here we also get support from the vendor so we know everything should work fine with the components.
I think it is a great idea! If you dont like it, then there is no downside, just don't buy it.

Useless messenger
Even if it exists, then it does not have to be good. Look at Microsoft Teams.

One more internet meme
Let it fall. People will then finally understand that this solution is not good. Decentraltion is the original design of the Internet.

Which areas of Linux would benefit most from further standardization?
Configuration gui standard. Usually there is a config file that I am suppose to edit as root and usually done in the terminal.
There should be a general gui tool that read those files and obey another file with the rules. Lets say it is if you enable this feature then you can't have this on at the same time. Or the number has to be between 1 and 5. Not more or less on the number. Basic validation. And run the program with --validation to let itself decide if it looks good or not.

Head of the Signal app threatens to withdraw from Europe
If the law is implemented, I would selfhost my own chat server. I don't see this as Signal fault.
But everybody can`t selfhost. That is a problem I am struggling with.
I am now sure what I would do about email, I assume it is affected as well?

Even PewDiePie thinks you should install Linux on your computer after saying he was "tortured by Windows"
It is actually a competitor. Mean Microsoft have to improve if they want to keep the users. With the Windows 10 EOL soon they will give up on those users on those computers. Basically forcing anyone else to take care of them - Linux stands there welcoming them. Users just need a push or someone saying try this for free.

Bluesky continues to soar
Good. Competition is good. If they suceed or fail just means we learn and build a better product.
