Other person: mentally calculating if someone just unloaded their traumatic mental baggage on me and what action I should take next
It's not that people think it's bad that you have no friends, it's because that sounds like a cry for help.
I once had someone come up to me , the first time hanging out at my house when I was 16, waiting till everyone else wsnt out and asking me "do you think it's okay to cry?"
I must have had the same reaction, getting all wide eyed and confused and just saying "uhhh, yeah?"
It's not disdain, it's panic you're seeing
