I think it's important to remember that musk has never actually done anything to innovate the companies he's been a part of. He didn't create PayPal, he just bought his way in and made a series of dumb suggestions. He didn't create Tesla, he bought Tesla right after they had fine tuned their models, and then he made a series of changes that likely resulted in a worse product.

Elon Musk is not a good businessman, he's just rich and has a habit of purchasing profitable companies. Anyone could do this with his wealth. I'm not even really convinced that he's offered many technical ideas or designs for any of his companies, as it seems that would be the first thing he would mention every single time someone brought up one of his companies.

What more need be said about it?

Yes the world would be a better place if people looking to profit in the world didn't have to ensure that their products were safe, regulated, and taxed appropriately. Business owners should just be able to make their own rules.

Nah man I'd say that shit it stupid too. It's difficult to build a lithium mine in the United States for pretty good reasons, especially surrounding regulation and safety.

Hell I took the j&j vaccine right around when it was released to the public and I'm still kicking. Doctor says I'm healthy and everything.

But I'm also a paid actor and I'm lying and I actually grew a third arm that only reacts to the soundtrack from the Scott Pilgrim movie so take this with a grain of salt.

UPS says its profit will fall after it reaches a Teamsters deal

Reply in thread

Mechanics make very good money with ups because of the union. This specific negotiation was for part time workers and drivers, negotiating higher base pay for all part timers and drivers, AC in drivers trucks, and better benefits.

The contract for mechanics and pilots will largely remain the same because again, these are some of the more lucrative jobs at ups.

The union ceases to exist without the companies that have unionized. What you are saying is antithetical to the idea and nature of a union.

The CEO of ups made $19 million last year. I think they can afford to pay her less and their actual workers more.

ACAB is a critique of the policing system as a whole, not individuals.

Good individuals enforcing a bad system are still as bad as the systems they enforce.

Law enforcement should truly be built around the idea of protecting and serving the greater public, but at this time it's really just legalized violence controlled by the rich, like a hit squad.

The CEO could not do what a package handler or driver does. That is also a fact.

Unskilled jobs still NEED to be done. They are NOT OPTIONAL. That is also a fact.

Do you believe that unskilled laborers do not deserve to be paid a living wage? Do you happen to know what the living wage in your nearest major city is? I ask because that's where all of the ups part timers work. They are not able to live in low income towns and rural areas because that's not where the hubs are.

Is there a business in your town, which you are 100% sure is a front?

There is a carpet store and restaurant near my house, and in the three years I've lived here I can't recall seeing anyone buy anything or even visit either store a single time.

Once my partner and I actually walked over to check it out and the carpet store was closed and all of the windows were covered. It was like 4 in the afternoon on a Wednesday, so I can't imagine why it would be closed.

There's supposedly a lot of Russian gang activity in my area, so I'm assuming it's just a front for them but I've never really confirmed it.
