Infomaniak

Why almost no one recommending myKsuite from infomaniak? I see always Tuta, Proton, Ente, self hosting etc. Never seen myKsuite which is less than 2 usd per month per 1TB cloud storage.

What is wrong about them?

I asked the same question on Reddit and my post was instantly removed

Hosting own instance

I want to help fediverse by hosting own instance. I dont have plans to build community, it will be for caching reasons. Does it make any sense?

For example, if I run loop instance, I will reshare stories through my instance, the content will be downloaded from my node, not the parent one. Am I right?

Web App ideas

I have some spare time and I was thinking about how I can contribute to our economy using my programming skills.

Do you have any applications ideas?

I was thinking about energy management app for solar and battery storage. I live in Poland and I just installed solar panels with energy storage system. But default settings are very limited. I want to predict my future production, consumption, when to charge battery storage, when to discharge…

That the first idea.

Another one is advanced calculator which show how profitable PV system can be. I know there is official app from eu parliament, but it has very limited settings…

Another European company (inpost) acquired by US corporation

Another major European company, InPost from Poland, has been acquired by a consortium including U.S.-based FedEx Corporation. This deal, valued at 15.60 EUR per share, marks a significant step in the expansion of e-commerce logistics across Europe. What are your thoughts on this growing trend of European companies being acquired by international investors?

In Poland InPost is the main player, but I think after that transaction it would be better to choose dpd or dhl..

How to Gently Move Your Non-Tech-Savvy Parents Away from American Big Tech (Without Starting a Family War)

Hey everyone,

I’ve been thinking a lot about how to help my parents reduce their reliance on American Big Tech (Google, Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, etc.). They’re not tech-savvy, and I don’t want to overwhelm them or make them feel like I’m forcing a radical change. At the same time, I’m concerned about privacy, data collection, and the monopolistic practices of these companies.

Any ideas? First of all I thought about ecosia, I see that it returns more similar results to google than Qwant.

I want to buy them Threema licence.

I installed Le Chat as chatgpt replacement, moved some documents to Synology Nas

What’s next?
