I'm definitely not Team Nintendo on this, but why was Dolphin on Steam anyway? People with Steamdecks would just use Emudeck and people with PCs can just download Dolphin from its site or even just use RetroArch, which is still on Steam. What was the point of putting it on Steam?

I 100% agree with your colleague, though I don't agree with his purity test. You're allowed to feel the way you do about medicine and still use whatever products you want. But, yeah, I don't own or use any Apple products, though I would like to own and restore an Apple IIe.

Not a lot at the moment. I'm helping my son make a plaster diarama of the Lost Woods from Tears of the Kingdom, painting Star Wars miniatures with a friend who is getting into the Legion tabletop game, and building a Gunpla that I repainted to look like Samus' Varia Suit from Metroid Dread. Also hoping to find time to jump back into teaching myself Blender after a 3 month break and probably losing 90% of what I've learned.

Well, as you mentioned, Bethesda games in general. I always mod Elder Scrolls and Fallout games to a ridiculous degree. But some more:

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has a great modding scene. I personally find "Start as a Jedi" essential for replays. And most of the mods (including that one) work on the excellent Android port.

Also, I love randomizers. I do a Symphony of the Night randomizer run at least 4 or 5 times a year, the Super Metroid x Link to the Past combined randomizer is amazing, and I'm finally going to dip my toe into Dark Souls randomizer soonish.

So, Breath of the Wild is my favorite video game of all time, and Tears of the Kingdom is BotW+++, so I'm doing great game wise. I also started Diablo 4 last night and so far I love it. It's like if they took Diablo 2, then added in only the good parts of Diablo 3. I might change my tune as I continue, but so far I'm loving it. I'm still enjoying my daily Marvel Snap addiction, but I've gone from regular sitting in the 70s to struggling to break out of the 40s. But still fun, even if I lose, which is a mark of a good game.

I just joined today. I'm using Jerboa. The only issue I've had so far is that I can't add communities from other instances. From what I understand, you just put the URL of the community into the search bar and it adds it, but that doesn't work for me. But no other bugs or crashes so far.

I'm a Dark Souls addict, so Iron Pineapple, Ymfah, VaatiVidya, Lobos Jr, and The Backlogs are all weekly watches for me.

And of course the MVP, Dunkey.

Ok, everyone telling you no mods isn't wrong, BUT...I kind of find a few mods to be all but essential. Specifically, making your horse invincible but also unable to do damage will really save you a headache. You want both because if he's invincible then he'll just start kicking dragons to death. And then SkyUI because the default UI is awful.

Thanks for the info. This is the first time I've seen any kind of reason for it to be on Steam. I use Dolphin a lot but I don't have a Steamdeck and just use it from my desktop.

What engine?

Every few months, I will do a randomizer run of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. I've played it so much that it's like taking a relaxing walk through a familiar neighborhood. It also has a great soundtrack.

Does that include your saved posts? That's what I'm worried about losing the most.

I personally agree that they are, but I recognize that that's nostalgia. My 11 year-old's favorite is Sword/Shield. He tried some of the older ones but couldn't get into them. I think the oldest one he's enjoyed was X/Y.

I was 14 when Ocarina of Time came out and it was my favorite video game for a decade or more. Now, I rank it kind of middle of the pack. I don't think it holds up as well as the 2d games or most of the 3d games, but it was groundbreaking at the time.
