A President Harris might not get any Supreme Court picks – Biden proposes term limits to make sure all future presidents get two.
Think there should be something in there about if the senate doesn’t go through with the hearing that it’s “implied consent”. Not that Mitch McConnell bs.

Americans are lonely and it’s killing them. How the US can combat this new epidemic.
My MiL was just asking me about the places i hung out as a teen (40yo here) because in HER day they had teen social clubs and all. I looked at her as if she had a third eye lol. I think it was the local mall, or CCG/TTRPG shop for me in my town. In the area I’m at now they’ve practically banned teens from the mall after a certain time. I have no idea where my kiddos will be able to go when they’re older. Hopefully my red state doesn’t obliterate libraries at least, though I’m in a blue spot.

You Know Who’s Available to Replace Joe Biden? Al Franken!
Me? I’d vote for him. Liked what I saw while he was in congress. Still think it was bs how he was pushed out before any actual investigation was done, if memory serves me correctly.

Parking like this for your benefit
You know, it doesn't say how they’re taking up two spots. If they’re going about it long-wise, then I’d be okay with long ass vehicles taking up two spots. I’ve seen cars/trucks with trailers do it all the time.
Now if they’re parking like a BMW and taking up two spots that way, then sure, they’re kind of an ahole. Slightly Less so if at least they parked in the boonies.

Biden signs executive order on advancing study of women's health while chiding 'backward' GOP ideas

And at the opposite side of the spectrum we haaave……ah yes, arresting women for miscarrying [Oklahoma], enacting laws to force women [and children] to flee their home states [e.g. Ohio and Texas] to get medical care they need, while also attempting to criminalize them for crossing state lines to get said medical care [Texas, Idaho, Missouri IIRC], which would be unconstitutional, but would likely take time to fight in the courts.
If he had the Senate AND House on his side and wasn’t able to get it done, I can see the criticism, but you know right now if it passed the Senate its going no where with MJ as House leader at the very least. Unless there is some magical executive power that the Supreme Court won’t shut down a la Roe vs Wade.

“Corolla killer:” BYD launches $US15,000 sedan EV with 420 km range in direct attack on legacy makers
Reply in thread
Thought i read somewhere that BYD or another manufacturer was looking to build manufacturing in Mexico to take advantage of the NAFTA agreement…. If that’s the case then it’s a question of them meeting US standards. I just remember the hilariously bad crash tests where that cars were the crumple zones.

Consumers are paying more than ever for streaming TV each month and analysts say there’s no reason for the companies to stop raising prices
Reply in thread
Yeah I don’t have the budget to subscribe to multiple streaming services, let alone cable or even one service. Thank god there’s not a lot I’d want to watch…even if sailing high seas.

Biden is withdrawing his broader student-loan-forgiveness plans that were set to cancel debt for over 38 million borrowers
All I know is that if IDR is killed off, I’ll have to go into bankruptcy as i don't have enough for groceries for my family as is. I know the likelihood of getting the stident debt is next to impossible, but i might be able to afford that payment if my cc debt is killed off ($40k) but would still have mortgage, car payment, roof loan payment, and my private student loans as well. I’m just pretty much tapped out. Probably worth more dead than alive, though I’m the bread winner.

Yeah our CIO started talking bringing cubes back. My manager, his manner and our director are pretty opposed to this. We do well remote and there are things we literally couldn’t do in the office. We’re in once a week-ish if it works out and if this forced our director would have to move back from multiple states over…. I don’t think they’ll make that move back if pressed and one co-worker expressed “fire me” sentiment if it comes.
