Idk bout you guys, but I'm not shedding a single fuckin tear for them LMAO

I'm a farmer. I warned my neighbors. I've had two hardcore trumpers walk up to me nowon two separate occasions now and tell me to my face "you were right"

I took no victory lap when either of them admitted it. The fact they admitted it was mind-blowing in and of itself. I didnt think they could ever be broken to admit it.

My response, "we've got three more years of this bullshit".

We're all in this together. But now you fucking understand.

Obvious choice

I'm a farmer, rancher, and dairyman. This shit pisses me off. You can get dual use out of land. I can grow crops and graze cattle around and often under solar panels. The limiting factor is what the power company will allow me to sell to them. And they don't want that because bottom lines.

Seriously. The oil industry has been extracting petrochemicals from the earth while we utilize the land above for animals and crops for over a hundred years. Its not difficult. Saying that renewables are using up our land and not allowing dual utilization for other commodities is a lazy and piss poor lie that will not stop and I'm tired of it.

Stop this nonsense bullshit petro propaganda now. Alternative energy can and already does coexist with modern land management and modern farming practices. Full stop.

ICE Can Now Enter Your Home Without a Warrant to Look for Migrants, DOJ Memo Says

Having read the title and also the whole article.... Let me say. The fuck no you can't. Let's get letigious or let's get the vests. I've got over 200 years of jurisprecisence and the moral high road. We can skip the cultural perogative if you really want to. Or in this case you can endorse it. It doesn't matter to me. as a cisgender white male and, and prolific gun owner, who is utterly tired of this already, let's fuckin go. I've been waiting and i've finally got the perfect set up to tell you how many ways you can blow it out your ass.

Disgusting anti American anti constitutional blowhards all of them.

Screwworm Parasite 'No Longer Contained in Texas' as Trump USDA Doubles Down on Efforts to Blame Biden

As a farmer, dairyman, and rancher with way too many cattle in Texas. I have this to say:

I was on the front lines of the bird flu cross species fiasco. Literally ground zero. Me and my cohorts were the boots on the ground and knew what was going on weeks before the state and fed acknowledged it. The acknowledgement of the problem was purely political and self serving. The government as a whole (state and fed) were refusing to test and confirm what we already knew. I have evidence and correspondence with officials and veterinarians to back it up.

My take away: it's a god damn miracle we survived Covid as well as we did. That should have been so much worse.

When it comes to the screwfly situation: I had little faith under previous administrations this would be handled properly. In Texas, sid miller was talking about woke agendas and playing partisan hack instead of prioritizing resources. We've had almost two god damn years! They all figured the people they were firing and defunding would handle it properly. With what resources?. Systematically dismantling our safety nets caused this.

This problem is one hundred percent political incompetence. Any IT professional that has been laid off because " your department doesn't do anything" will tell you that a successful job done is literally twiddling your thumbs because you did it right. Y2k was a victory lap that the general public and politicians laugh at because it wasn't a problem. It wasn't a problem because we fixed it before the world ended. This screw fly trainwreck is what happens when you don't listen to IT and fire them all for being lazy.

Detection in mexico was non existent. The screw fly hits the states and what is left of our protection finds it. Great job. Too late.

Tldr, your hamburger and steak prices will continue to be more expensive, but not from this. But the suffering of both domestic animals and wildlife will be greatly increased because these dipshits wanted to play politics instead of giving a shit about the bigger picture.

DNC Moves to Oust David Hogg After He Says Party Isn’t Standing Up to Trump

Reply in thread

So where, pray tell, do the progressive votes go?

Primary them sure. Try and snag it back. But you won't turn your next vote red. You know that. And they know that. And I sure as fuck won't do it either. The DNC can rot. But...

You can and should blame the two party system sure. But if you don't primary and win. Well. We've seen that before again and again.

I'm a progressive that will vote blue again. Reluctantly. Emphatically so. But I will.

The posturing of principals means nothing in our political reality. And it pisses me off. But reality doesn't care about your feelings.

You are probably right. But from personal experience with both of the people who admitted they were wrong, the huge dose of humble pie they ate to ever admit to me, that's takes real effort. One sees it in his pocketbook. He may forget. The other sees it after a solid dozen of his employees have been deported after ice raids. He's hurting in his pocketbook and in the personal relationships he has built with his employees.

To be fair I've told these people that all farmers should be voting dem across the board, quite militantly, for years now. But guns and "Jesus" made them think I was a madman. I know and understand who's blood and sweat our tiny world is built on,and finally they are starting to understand it. I hope it is a lesson that sticks. I'll be doing my damned best to make sure it does.

These are people that have fallen for propaganda. Decades of it. They aren't bad. They are just stupid for not paying attention. We can fix that. Call it out but please don't forget your empathy. I'm having a hard enough time as it is.

'These guys work six 12-hour days': VT dairy farms anxious after migrant workers arrested

Reply in thread

My lead feeder makes 75k a year. That's more than I take home for myself. I personally sponsored him to get a visa, as I have for over 20 of my other employees over the past five years.

The lower positions take home 160 a day to start. But there is a pay scale based on time employed, and vacation days accrue and improve based on tenure.

These are my employees, but they are also my neighbors and my friends. I go to their birthday parties and their kids graduations. The quincienetas and baby showers.

I know whose hard work and sweat makes my money, and I work along side them every day. I appreciate and try to return that in kind. We are all in this world together.

Crockett leads Talarico by double digits in Texas Senate poll

Talerico is more electable by the simple fact that he is white and a male. He is inherently a bigger threat to the GOP in Texas.

This is fucking Texas. You don't want a firebrand because they will never get elected. This seat hasn't been held by a dem since LBJ for Christs sake.

You want the boring Christian white boy. And then you can build off of that.

Don't get me wrong. I like Crockett. But in a general election against a GOP party that has held this state in a stranglehold for the last thirty years, I'm voting on electability. Those independent voters are worth a hell of a lot more here.

Yeah. That's unfortunate. An absolute travesty. But we've found a way to fix what we have fucked up. And that's good. Don't minimalize it.

We've broken the system. That sucks. But we've found a way to fix it for now. Not as good, but we are trying to do something.

Give some credit to the folks that are trying to fix our fuck ups. God damn it some people have realized what a mess we've made and are trying to do something to fix it. Small wins may just save our asses if we let them stack up enough.

Yeah we can do that. What do you think side loading means? Changing the name of an install doesn't make it different. Back in my day we called it installing a program. Things changed. Then we called it downloading an app. Things changed. Now if it's not approved it's called side loading? Blow it out your ass.

Its a program. Take the training wheels off of the Internet. I grew up when this was a cautionary tale. But up and deal with the consequences or get out.

Stephen Colbert’s unaired James Talarico interview hits 6.4 million YouTube views and results in $2.5 million raised for Talarico’s campaign in 24 hours

Tal has a big up against crockett that will play big come the general election here in Texas.

Talerico is a white male. Crockett isn't. This is Texas we are talking about and, as disappointing it is to say, it will play a massive role in an already uphill battle. He's just more electable at face value for that fact alone.

I like both candidates, tal gets the edge for his funding methods to be sure, but the electability argument is a big one when you are talking about a Senate seat that hasn't been held by a dem since LBJ.

I Set A Trap To Catch Students Cheating With AI. The Result Was Deflating

Reply in thread

I think that rewording wikipedia is slightly better though. It still requires you to digest some of the information. Kind of like when your teacher let you create notes on a note card for the test. You have to actually read and write the information. You get tricked into learning information.

Ai, just does it for you. There's no need to do much else, and it's reliability is significantly worse that random wiki editors could ever be. I see little real learning with ai.

To be fair, my own granny died thinking I was still a card carrying Republican. Sometimes you don't tell Grandma you are a godless liberal. The old folks don't really need to know everything. Christmas gets kinda awkward if you do.
