Liz Truss says being compared to a lettuce was not funny
Thanks Liz. We had almost forgotten that but now you’ve jogged our memories on how funny that was.

Billionaire among the missing as tourist submersible exploring Titanic wreck disappears
Sixty people die when Russia bombs a Ukrainian school and it passes by without much reaction. A sub with 4 people who know the risk of what they’re doing and a billionaire thrill seeker goes missing and it’s news to follow hourly.

Must show ID to check out at Costco.
I’ve heard about this which is to challenge card sharing obviously. Heading there next week and see if my location is doing it. Memberships are for households so what are they validating? Same address and over 16 is what defines the extra household card.
Can’t say I mind, guess there’s a few positions on it.

Macron on how to stop young rioters: Get mum and dad to restore order
From afar Macron sometimes looks like a capable leader, transitions for decent periods of petulant child, and finishes with clueless on major issues.

Do people actually tune their printer for each new roll of filament?
Could be semantics but I configure (tune?) my profile to brand and color and leave it unless a roll is printing oddly. Basically, I’m looking for adjustments to flow, retraction speed and distance. Overture black and white are the same but recently used a hot pink and bright green from two different manufacturers where my Cura Overture Black/white profile sucked.

Anyone use Costco car insurance? (US)
Looks like it’s American Family Insurance under the covers and they seem to have good reviews and lower customer complaints than usual. I just learned Costco offers this, thanks!

The public feud between Prigozhin and Russian military brass just got very real
Interesting situation. Prigozhin has criticized the Russian military over the past few months and Putin has stayed silent. Now this and the military responds but Putin remains silent. Putin needs a weak military to avoid being overthrown, but the FSB opens an investigation, why? Prigozhin threatens to attack the russian military and comes up with a story/lie that he realizes the Ukrainian invasion was based on lies. What does Prigozhin want, money a coup?

Florida man, 14-year-old stepson die while hiking at Big Bend National Park, officials say
This is sad. When these things happen I think about the times when there’s cold and ice in Texas, folks from the north point at the idiot southerners but when it comes to heat and they’re suffering it’s a "poor them" situation. These folks were from Florida and really do feel bad for them. This heat spell is deadly and you might feel fine now but in 30 minutes your world could be in a really bad place. Know your limits, you’re just as much a hero for hunkering indoors.

My bad, I misread your post and thought you were talking about the 19 innocent people killed by Russian missiles in April of this year. Sorry, my bad.

The stories of folks with those contracts will start coming out in a month. Similar to the situation during the freeze a couple of years ago. Griddy in particular had a lot of lower income families who didn’t understand the implication of variable rates along with being told about "average" rates and then were stung when the bill showed up.

Does Costco have Morningstar Farms products where you live?
We’re going next week and I’ll look, but I’ll say Costco is very geographic in their stocking.

this community is awesome
Totally agree with Bishma on Tinkercad, it has limits but you’ll be building stuff. I came from SketchUp which isn’t strong for 3D printing, played with Blender for a short bit then sucked it up and dove into Fusion.
I started watching videos from Paul McWhorter on YouTube who walks through things slowly instead of some of the other guys who go at a lightening fast pace, not saying they aren’t good but too many what just happened there moments. Paul’s videos are slightly dated but still strong for basics.

The best part of 3d printing is making things you can't buy
Wife got me into the hobby to go along with my other interests like woodworking and restoration, "something to keep him busy", but she’s a beast for scouring thingiverse and printables for stuff along with her own "what if" ideas. It’s great, sometimes I’m not interested in the object but getting there is so cool.

Is this new? Latest roll of filament came on a cardboard spool
I like them. Only issue I’ve had was self made, dropped a spool and it dented the cardboard which caused it to hang in the Sunlu dryer. Probably print some rings for my next bout of clumsiness.

We’re in our first year with solar so this should be interesting. It’s brutal out there, ten minutes in the garage and I’m soaked.

Here are the top 25 NHL free agents this offseason - Eric Mullin | sports.yahoo.com
Is Bergeron really a free agent? Technically yes, but he’s going to either resign for a year or retire. The season had a crushing end and is it worth another campaign depending on how his back injury plays out? I’m usually wrong but will go with retire.

Columbus Blue Jackets name Mike Babcock ninth head coach in club history
I’m probably the only person that cares, but the weird way he sips water behind the bench has always been intriguing. Eyes glaring at someone with a sippy nipple pull of water from the bottle. Can’t find an image, but will next season.
