Why the Linux Kernel Should Stick With C
TL;DR: In which the author doesn't comprehend that Rust can do everything C can do on the same hardware, and overstates the stability of C as a language, pleading sentiment over sensibility.

How video games help trans people find gender euphoria
Reply in thread
Being trans isn't about sexual orientation, and people can make their games about whatever they want. Let people enjoy things, it's ok if it's not for you.

I'm sorry that happened to you, and I hope you're on the path to healing.
I don't think all men are like this
Thankfully, a huge amount are nothing like that. I have a few guy friends that I know I can trust with my whole self, to just be good guys.
The scary part is that too many are like that, and even scarier is that there are even more in a gray area in the middle - ones who wouldn't necessarily act like that, but if a friend did, they'd defend that froend instead of calling out shitty behavior and holding them accountable.

My entire life up until last year. Turned out to be biochemical gender dysphoria. Estrogen straight-up fixed it for me.

Reddit CEO tells employees that subreddit blackout “will pass”

Due to his untrustworthy behavior, I can't say I'd be surprised if he leaked the memo himself, purposely including the deflection of revenue not being impacted or such.
Sounds a bit conspiracy theorist, but I would certainly be unsurprised.

Honestly as a transfem with mostly social and biochemical dysphoria, but with no bottom dysphoria at all, it makes at least a small amount of sense.
If I can be a girl who wants to keep her OEM dick, then why can't a cis girl want one too?
Same kind of stuff that makes people get a salmacian. People are allowed to want whatever genitals they want, regardless of identity. It just hits weird to think of it that way 🤷♀️

Histor(ule)ically Accur(ule)ate Fr(ule)iendship
Reply in thread
It's just referring to the common pattern of history books and information at places like museums erasing gay people by calling them "friends" instead. Including stuff like two men buried together in ways that only married couples would have been in their culture or paintings that show two women very obviously being intimate in some way in a bed being labelled as two "good friends"

Absolutely
I was a trans kid who didn't have much of a concept of gender identity until society smacked me in the face with it and essentially made everything revolve around it. I came out as an established adult with a family and career and still lost half my biological family to bigotry, while they cursed me with one hand and blamed me for tearing the family apart.
My heart goes out to the kids who know, feel it in their bones, and have no choice but to watch as their body becomes less comfortable.

Yeah, having built up 13 years of Reddit subs adding and removing...I keep having to remind myself this won't be an immediate thing to replace it for me
