Lol I did. She's a terror when she wants to be. Knocking shit over etc. You'd think I'd be in charge of things seeing as I have 108lbs on her. But here we are...

It's a texture thing I think. If I take a bite with mushroom in it, my like animal hind brain just straight up rejects it. Gagging spitting, the whole tottler experience. No conscious thoughts, no tasting, just reflex

Also I've just started "to sleep in a sea of stars" by Christopher Paolini. Published 2020. As I said I'm not to deep into it, but so far it's an alien encounter story. Starting off as a bit of a downer, but it's still early days. So far so good.

Lyft and Uber say they will leave Minneapolis if the mayor signs a minimum wage bill for drivers

Hold out a little hope. Democrats have both houses and the governor. And uncharacteristically they're actually moving some shit though. We got weed legalization, a huge investment in housing, and some good public transit is in the works.

I've been digging 'Dungeon crawler Carl' Definitely listen to it. I went into it knowing nothing, just based on a reddit comment. Was fantastic. Next book in the series comes out in a few days

Yes and no. Like I said I went into this series almost blind as to what it was. I thought I had discovered this whole new generation of literature (litrpg) I could dive into.
But alas, there are so many absolutey horrible books out there in the litrpg world. Dungeon crawler Carl is really the only one I could recommend. I really hate to poop on anyone's parade who's into it, but that's how I feel. It's still a youngish thing, so I keep an eye on new series. But so far nada.
Like I said before, the audio book here is the way to go here.

People of Lemmy who have either "reinvented themselves" or gone through a mid/quarter-life crisis, where did you start off and where did you end up?

I've struggled with substance abuse. Get sober and give it 6 months. The human brain is amazing, it will snap back. Just gotta give it a chance to adjust.

Lol, probably an on the way type stop. I never get too far off the interstate driving a rig as I do, but it seems like beautiful country. Might be worth a weekend camping trip.

What is a technology growing up that when you saw it, it blew your mind?
I remember the first iphone I ever saw. I was at the airport waiting in the security line, some lady a few people up was checking the weather at her destination. There was a dozen of us having our minds blown huddled around her. Smart phones, blessing and a curse.
