The Soviet Union imploded first and foremost due to its massive internal contradictions. Any involvement from the US or Soros is secondary at best. Gorbachev's reforms threatened the power of the bureaucrat ruling class. They are the ones that killed the Soviet Union in order to become the oligarchs.

I didn't say that. In fact I acknowledged that the US attacked it. But the USSR also worked to undermine capitalist regimes. So what? You're the one that isn't being serious because you don't have an answer for the fact the Soviet Union was a walking contradiction. It claimed to be a workers socialist government yet in praxis it was state capitalism with an authoritarian government. That contradiction is what brought it down. But yeah it's easier to just blame America and keep the socialist movement from learning and adapting.

Perestroika could have worked, glasnost too. But not both at the same time. Glasnost was implemented to counter the power of the bureaucrats impeding perestroika. So maybe glasnost first and then perestroika.

Doesn't think shock therapy worked or that the Soviet Union was betrayed by the bureaucrat class?
