Do analog triggers matter all that much? (In general and aside from racing games)

I got my kid a cheap generic gamepad that I like a lot for its features (and price!) And was thinking of getting another one and modding them with hall effect sticks, so I stopped to actually look at it to consider if it was worth it and noticed it doesn't have triggers, the L2 and R2 are just buttons.

Which got me thinking, do analog triggers matter all that much? I don't really like racing games in general and since I'm a PC gamer I don't even consider the gamepad for precision shooters (if I feel I need precision aiming I just do m+k). I can't think of many situations where I don't just bottom out the triggers on my xbox gamepad, to the point where I get surprised if in the middle of a game I find out I can do stuff like a weak shot with a bow or a weak anything.

What situations, other than throttle and break in vehicles, do you find yourself making real use of the analog triggers? Do you think you would miss them if you didn't have them? Why? Maybe I'm just not noticing when I use them, it's nice to have, sure, but can't say more than that.

Stuff for kids?

I've been thinking about this stuff for a few years now but never actually put any effort into looking it up until now, I wanted to know what is out there in terms of self hosting services for kids, not necessarily just parental control but rather stuff for kids to do that aren't just device isolated apps.

To get the conversation started, I've had the idea floating around my head for a few years of making some local "youtube" for my kid to upload their own videos at some point, maybe throw in some family edits and stuff like that to get the feeling of YouTube without the exposure, same with some sort of social network like a basic blog (wouldn't have much interaction, I know, but at least have the option)

Then, I just found this video on youtube (vertical video warning for anyone who cares) which seems to do a few things of that nature, doesn't seem like it will be foss, personally that's not a requisite for me to use stuff but given its for children focused stuff it doesn't sound great to me at first glance.

What else is out there? What do people piece together out of general projects? Do people even go anywhere beyond hosting their kids dvds on jellyfin/plex and calling it a day?

What do you use for your server administration?

I was using webmin, but since my last server died and I'm making a new one, I decided I'd look into something different, personally I liked webmin but didn't use most of its functionality and felt a little clunky for my basic use. I've also testran casaos but felt weirdly limited and couldn't smoothly migrate docker containers to interact with its interface.

I can do with just the terminal, but it's nice having a gui that I can glance at my phone and quickly do stuff like update and reboot.

I personally haven't seen or found much conversation into the topic so I figured I'd ask and see what you peeps use and why.
