It's BS to not announce, on lemmy.world something that affects lemmy.world.

Be open and transparent.

I don't like that you blocked the piracy communities but I recognise that you see a reason to do so.

I've already begun migrating my subs to another instance because that's the great thing about the fediverse - I can.

If you want to be the big Lemmy instance with a lot of traffic then you're going to have to protect yourself, I get it. But at least have the balls to announce your unpopular decisions.

Often it's better to present a toddler or young child with a choice rather than a demand. Brush your teeth is easy to refuse. Would you like me to brush your teeth or you? Is much better as children at this age are always seeking greater agency.

Fifa suspends Luis Rubiales from all football-related activity over Hermoso kiss

They'll wait and see what the public reaction is and what other dirt will come out about him before making a decision.

Then, when there's no possible way that they can justify keeping him, they'll fire him and make out like they did it because they care about women's voices.

Look at how Man U handled the Greenwood ordeal. If they could've gotten away with it, I guarantee he would still be on the squad.

Look at Deshaun Watson.

UNESCO calls for ban on smartphone use in classrooms

Educator here.

Absolutely not. Direct instruction with retrieval practice is the best way we know of to make changes to long term memory (learn).

Technology is absolutely necessary in a modern classroom. Smartphones are not. Children (<18y.o.) cannot handle the attention grabbing aspects of smart phone use. Or should that be that if a child has to chose between paying attention in a classroom and paying attention to a device, the device always wins.
