maybe, but i feel like while it may correlate, it's not the cause. the cause is more likely that if a parent cares enough to show their child art, they're probably more nurturing and prioritize academia more than parents who raise an iPad kid

Climate crisis with Poison Ivy

I felt they were using the fact that Batman is an orphan, and being a billionaire is an excuse to explain how he can fund his... hobby?

But I could see the billionaire propaganda aspect as well. I guess it depends on the author's intent.

AI will reduce workforce, say 41% of execs in a survey

If Gartner comes out with a decent AI model, you could replace over half of your CIOs, CISOs, CTOs, etc. Most of them lack any real leadership qualities and simply parrot what they're told/what they've read. They're their through nepotism.

Also, most of them use AI as a crutch, so that's all they know. Meanwhile, the rest of us use it as a tool (what it's meant to be).

I have a flip phone for a while now. A black line did form on the crease after ~6 months, but was replaced under warranty. No further problems since. I don't use a case either and am rather clumsy.

The biggest upside to the design is reclaimed pocket space.

Everyone has accepted carrying a giant slab that takes up one pocket at all times. Manufacturers that attempt to make reasonable sized phones quickly abandon the idea because people don't purchase them. Everyone says they'd love having a small phone, then buy something else when it's time to spend money. Flip phones are the closest thing to a compromise we'll get anymore.

Given that phones are cameras that just so happen to make phone calls and the industry continuously innovate backwards (headphone jack, micro sd expandable storage, removable batteries, physical sim trays, and potentially USB-C if Apple has their way), foldable screens are the first genuine innovation/progression.

Windows 10 is EOL in October 2025

Reply in thread

I'd recommend doing a dual boot sooner and slowly shifting your files & apps. It took me about 3 months to find a distro and desktop environment i like, get my apps or alternatives installed, and get used to it.

If you wait until EOL, you may be overwhelmed and frustrated, increasing the likelihood of calling quits and accepting Windows 11.

my apologies. i meant "iPad kid" as in the Internet stereotype where the kid essentially throws a tantrum if they can't watch their skibidi toilet. and their parents don't take initiative to engage the child in something more beneficial

if the child uses an iPad to look at art, that's a great use of the tool and i fully support it

hopefully that clears up what i meant :)
