Reddit communities with millions of followers plan to extend the blackout indefinitely

The real question I think is will Reddit retaliate back and forcibly recover communities and install new mods?

Told me I got the wrong answer
I mean the middle bottom one could be considered an animal… a deceased one but still.

On Politics and Forking
Unless you retreat the woods and recreate technologies yourself from scratch, it’s impossible to live in a modern society without benefiting from technology built on countless dead bodies in history.
This makes complete sense, I also think open source and federated platforms like this give users the most autonomy from the creators of the software when compared to other platforms. I do wish there was the ability to port users and communities across instances, though, kinda like you can do with mastodon. I understand that would be hard for the developers to create, but I think it would help with the creation of a truly free platform.
Furthermore, I think some of the concern around some primary instances is a little overblown, as most of the larger ones have their own policies against bigotry and fascism. However, I understand that the type moderation between instances differs, and that is the best part about federated services.

A company called Atari is releasing a brand-new 2600 cartridge this year
Reminds me of the "Polaroid Story"
The company that owns the Polaroid brand and IP, PLR IP Holdings, LLC, was just sold by an ownership group led by the Pohlad family to an ownership group led by the Smolokowski family. The Pohlad family, which owns the Minnesota Twins baseball team, purchased its majority stake in Polaroid back in December 2014 for $70 million.
Although its iconic instant film and cameras may be out of production now, Polaroid the brand is still alive and well: through licensing agreements, a huge range of Polaroid products are still being sold in over 100,000 retail stores in over 100 countries around the world.

Same, I chose Beehaw in particular because of its stance on providing a bigotry free platform... that being said as a federated service you have many options for a "home instance" but if you still want to interact with a community on another instance you will still be subject to that communities and instances policies. As a lot of people like yourself have chosen Beehaw for its safe space nature, you may miss out on communities you would feel welcomed in if you were to completely swear off Beehaw, although you do have the freedom to choose that.

Steven universe is a gem of a show... weird to say I still tear up at the thought of some of the songs in that show.

If we all cycled like the Dutch, CO2 emissions would drop by 690 million tonnes
As someone who once HAD to commute for a 45 car ride to work... not all commutes work with this. Public transit can help with a lot of those, but unless we rezone and rebuild most cites for shorter commutes, it won't replace all cars.

lemmy.ml is migrated to a new server
Have we explored the possibility of "porting" the larger communities to other instances? It seems that many of us simply wish to subscribe to the largest (insert type of community here) and can do so from various home instances. Might lower demand on this specific instance at the very least.

It makes sense from their perspective but still kinda shitty.

undefined> esda games are best left alone until the modders get a solid crack at it to shore up bugs and add features that probably should’ve been in the base game. Give that shit at least half a year imo
I definitely love the mods that the community makes for Bethesda games, but I have also enjoyed many of their games without them... I will often do a vanilla play through prior to doing any mods.

It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society
It’s okay to not be okay, no healthy person is happy all the time. Emotions have meaning and are human.
What’s more, if you are living in a place where your human rights are under attack it is those that aren’t profoundly disturbed by that who are abnormal and unhealthy.

Cyberpunk’s expansion totally overhauls the original game | VGC
Very excited about any updates they can give to cyberpunk... despite the rocky launch, I really loved the game and wish people didn't glance over it so much.

IDK about a year for me personally, as when it doesn’t massively disappoint when it comes out I will likely get it as soon as I have anything resembling a free day. Nothing like cracking into a new game after you know it won’t disappoint and you have post of time to loose yourself.

I am totally for more cycling… but imo from a policy perspective in most cities we just need more public transit and maybe some more bike lanes in areas they could help.

In some areas, there aren't even enough allies in medicine... that being said, though, you will sometimes find them where you least expect. Even had an old primary care physician, in my very conservative state, who clocked me as a somewhat closeted trans/nb and shared that unlike his colleagues in the same medical practice he was an ally. One who had previously cared for a trans patient in the past too. Just a reminder that there are tons of good ones out there too. 💟

Lemmy v0.17.4 is available (is this the meta channel?)
I know Beehaw is planning to update to the latest version early Tuesday morning and plan to be down at least between 7-7:30am. (I Just Saw This In a Pinned Post on the Beehaw meta community)
