Good point and all, but my first thought was that it could finally tell me who would win in various hypothetical fights lol

Electrocution is electric execution. Assuming you're still alive, you shocked yourself. Pet peeve of a former electrician, forgive me.

About half of the stuff on Reddit is just "Best of Twitter"
I'm sure that's accurate enough for some subs but it's hard to make broad statements about reddit with so many communities. Your experience was whatever you curated for yourself unless you're one of the weirdos that browsed by All

I meant more like Shaq with a 2x4 vs eight Gary Colemans with nunchucks, but that was a good show at the time

As Peppycito said, they don't make sparks, which is important if you're working somewhere that could have explosive fumes. The lanyard is traditional for sailors' tools to prevent loss as well as dropping it on someone below. Mostly decorative now but it's convenient to be able to let go of the tool if you need both hands for something.

For what it's worth, I just switched from Windows 10 to Fedora KDE Plasma and it's been perfect so far. Only hurdle was windows kept corrupting the flash drive I was trying to make until I figured out the right order to do everything. Now I can make it so that when I close a window it bursts into flames and disintegrates, awesome.

I've been really happy with the pair of Flexon 609s I got off Amazon for $85 a few years ago. Still good as new after falling asleep in them and dropping them multiple times. Contact them if you aren't sure you're ordering the correct width, they have some listings that don't seem to show up while searching for certain sizes. I'm probably going to get a second pair just because I don't want to go back to my last pair even for the time it takes to replace lenses.

If you could only have one Slide Rule, which one would it be?
Probably a Pickett N600-ES. I feel like it's the most bang for buck size-wise. I really like the Concise / Sama & Etani slide rules with the reference tables too. I have several of those stashed around in case I need to reference a formula or periodic table

Regarding food, is there a food bank nearby? There's no shame in going to one, they are often trying to get rid of surplus food before it goes bad.

Part of the appeal is the space factor too. That photo of Aldrin with his pipe and slide rule on Gemeni is one of my favorite pictures even though it's sadly underexposed
