Passkeys Explained: The End of Passwords
Reply in thread
Currently I use a FOSS (I think?) password manager, BitWarden, that supports passkeys. I use it across Mac, Windows and Android so I'm while my passkeys are locked yo the password manager, I am not locked to any of the aforementioned megacorps.

Passkeys Explained: The End of Passwords

You don't share your personal password across the whole team now, do you? At least for your teams sake I hope you don't.

4 nations face off rosters. Who do we think will win?
Canada has a stacked roster! The 1st power play is rumored to be Crosby, McDavid, McKinnon, Reinhart, Makar. That's a scary lineup.
But I'm of course rooting for my home bois, Lejonat 🇫🇮. Sadly we lost Heiskanen so that's a big blow.

TBT: Putin scores 8
My guess is peace in Ukraine. Russias war of aggression is what's keeping them from participating in sports events.
It's unfortunate of course, the Russian best-on-best team would be a force to fear!

A year of uv: pros, cons, and should you migrate
Reply in thread
The article quite clearly mentions competition:
Because I'm a freelancer dev, and also a trainer, I get to navigate those waters and I've seen all other tools fail spectacularly. pyenv, poetry, pipenv, pdm, pyflow, pipx, anaconda...
As well as discusses anaconda later in relation to CLI and GUI.
The speed is really fantastic, there's nothing else I can say. If you don't see a benefit, the it's fine of course. But going from insanely long resolution times in my previous work place using conda to now resolving stuff in a matter of seconds is incredible. uv is the first tool I have used for Python that just feels right.
I recommend listening to the podcast from Real Python that talks with Charlie, they discuss the commercial aspect https://realpython.com/podcasts/rpp/238/

With an Oilers win, "Mr. Game 4" Stuart Skinner remains undefeated in game 4s.
A bit ironic since he got pulled though

Oh wow! This would be great I really hope it's accepted and implemented, makes a lot of sense!

Conda is, to the alternative already mentioned, a great way to keep different versions of python and it's packages for each project!

Czechs eliminate Canada for 3rd straight year at world juniors
Reply in thread
The juniors is fun that way that they are a bit chaotic in that way, that you never really know who is gonna come out on top. Even when a team is stacked, like Canada and USA usually is, they might lose to some of the smaller countries.

Viral chart suggesting most American couples now meet online is an artifact of smoothing graph across COVID years
Would be interested to see with data for a few newer years, if the trend has continued similar to pre-covid or not.

Pyrefly vs. ty: Comparing Python’s Two New Rust-Based Type Checkers
Very interesting! I have been waiting for ty (or rather red-knot) for a long time. Still holding out for a few more features, probably end of year, before swapping over.

Predictions for the final?
Reply in thread
To be fair only Sweden has been a proper challenge for USA and they had trouble there too. Canada has been tested and proved themselves, USA has nearly skated smoothly to the finals. So we'll see if USA can even get into 5th gear since they have been on cruise control so far.

Digieuro lopettaa Euroopan riippuvuuden amerikkalaisista maksukorteista ehkä jo 2029

How do we feel about Horrific Visions coming back in 11.1.5?
Didn't play back in BFA so gonna be interested. Heard good about them and that the bad part was that they were mandatory (like Torghast in SL). The chopper looks nice tho
