While I’m not an oilers fan, I really hope they win because McDavid desperately deserves the cup. With that being said, knowing my luck, my prediction is they’ll lose in the finals to an American team. Probably from a city that’s not normally big on hockey. I really hope I’m wrong though.

Why does McDavid deserve it? He's a skilled player, but I'm not sure he's been an effective Captain.

Their top end is still stacked, McDavid, Dreisitel, Bouchard among others. Their problems though haven't really been addressed: goaltending still seems like a problem (unless Devon Levi turns out better than expected) and depth. They definitely haven't been looking good defensively so far I would say. How Babcock turns out is anyones guess. I would never count them out, but in my book they are not the favorites.

Depending on mid-season moves, injuries and how form develops many of the same teams as last year were good probably continue so + Florida. Montreal will be very interesting if they take another step forward.

They made a few moves in the offseason that will prove to be destructive in the long term, but so far the team is looking much better than it did last year. A fully rested and healty Bouchard is playing like a superstar and Devon Levi has had a couple of really solid games. Hard to say for sure this early, but I would call them a contender at least.

Wanting a cup is definitely not enough. - Caps fan

Ovi finally got one, but only after he realized that defense is a thing, and even then it took a lot more than just him waking up.

They'll have to get through the Leafs! Who already endured several years of Babs.

Sharks can win one soon, but have to give Celebrini back to Vancouver afterwards...

Jarry is gonna be a problem. I’m not sure how their GM thought he was a better option than Skinner.
