Planned OB-solescence

A lot of us still have old plans with free upgrades. Some great grandfathered T-Mobile and sprint plans out there.

Can even maximize gains by buying a used low end phone for the trade in and sell the old iPhone on eBay.

Apple CEO Tim Cook warns AI-driven price increases are unavoidable

Yeah fixing that one problem isn’t an issue. It’s that the fix probably affects some other service. When you’re dealing with a bunch of integrated systems, some of which are over a decade old, bugs aren’t just fixing a few lines of code in your part and calling it good.

I’m sure it can be useful for smaller self contained projects. A lot cheaper and easier to review the AIs changes on those too.

Attractive or actually want to date? I’m guessing porn stars are all around that age, but I have trouble believing the average 40 year old guy wants to date a 20 year old. Or maybe they only quizzed the older guys who like to hang out in bars?

I’m over 40 and imagine even 10 years younger would be hard to deal with.

Top Ten Reasons Americans Want Enormous Cars

The last one is a significant concern. Huge trucks and SUVs are so prevalent and they're so big it seems like the drivers aren't as aware of their surroundings. I'd love to see us move to taxing based on vehicle weight/mileage since it's the true measure of how much wear a vehicle puts on the roads. You want that insane Hummer EV? You're paying 20x what the guy in a Civic is paying.

Computer Science, a popular college major, has one of the highest unemployment rates

Speaking for the US, major universities may be there for research, but they are a small portion of the mass of schools across the country.

People have mostly been getting degrees to get a good job since at least shortly after WW2. It’s silly to pretend people are going massively in debt without the expectation of a return on that investment.

Nothing against people learning for the joy of learning, but I absolutely hold schools accountable for not making job prospects clear when most of the students are both young and ignorant of the world.

Why LLMs can't really build software

Did you see another video about this? The one linked only showed the walls and still showed them doing interior framing. Nothing about windows, electrical, plumbing, insulation, etc.

What they showed could speed up construction but there are tons of other steps involved.

I do wonder how sturdy it is since it doesn’t look like rebar or anything else is added.
