My partner was like that when I got a dog because he thought he would need to compete with the dog for my love. We were in our early 20s and I'm sure being raised by the toxic narcissist of a parent didn't help. He got over it fast after I asked why the fuck would he ever think that way.

Wait, not like that

Fyi it could be filters need changing. Right now if we turn on the aircon at work, I get terribly sore throat that would last for days. Turns out they change/clean the filters only once a year, and it's even worse in some other rooms where it also smells bad.

It's short for Polycystic ovary syndrome. It's an endocrine disorder that in some women causes cysts to form on ovaries, hence the name, but it's not a universal symptom. It can affect liver function (non-alcoholic fatty liver disease or NAFLD for short), increase cholesterol, cause insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea, irregular menstrual cycle, pelvic pain (especially if a cyst ruptures, that can cause extreme pain), mood changes, make it difficult to get pregnant.
Edit: ah yeah, and it can cause weight gain/obesity. One of the hardest/impossible areas to lose fat in is belly. It tends to cause a lot of self-esteem and body image issues.

I have hirsutism due to PCOS. I'm waxing that mofo of a mustache even though it hurts like a bitch. Ain't got no time to waste on shaving every day lol. It's the harmless part of having PCOS, and kinda wish it was my biggest concern about it, lol.

Because most likely the original was translated to another language (Russian, most likely), and then that got translated back to English.

I did that when I worked customer support. The only way I could retain the little bit of sanity I had left. But to be honest, we were so understaffed that even if I slipped, they wouldn't have fired me. There was one guy who was so angry with a customer that he wrote their number down, and then over his break called the customer with his private phone to argue with them. Still didn't get fired, lol.

I'll tell you how. My company has been moving to solutions developed and/or hosted in EU for privacy reasons, but at the same time continue to go deeper and deeper into M$ ecosystem because the management believes XYZ product sounds cool and/or works better than the alternatives we're using. I'm just waiting for this circus to fall apart.

Pronouns

It's funny to me how easy English has it. All you have to do is use "they", and if people think that's awkward, they should see how difficult it is to navigate it in a language with complex verb conjugations with gendered nouns and verbs. It's complicated to the point that non-binary people will still use their assigned-at-birth (if that's the term?) pronouns, to save everyone - including themselves - a headache. There's of course a movement to change the language, but it's difficult.

On a serious note, COVID isn't the only virus that can cause loss of smell (permanent or temporary). I lost it before COVID for a month or so, and it took some time for it to return completely. But to this day, there are still certain chemical smells (like deodorants in spray) that smell a tiny bit off to me.

Lol, we used those little transmitters that you plug into the cigarette lighter plug until several years ago in a mid 2000s car, and they're still sold and used by people. The funniest thing that happened was when we were overtaking a semi who had one of these, but with a stronger transmitter, so for a couple of seconds we were listening to the guy's random turbo folk music.

One of my family cats is currently at the end of her life due to kidney disease. It really sucks, glad they're doing something about it. Now if only they could do the same for dogs.

I can only speak for the bedtime, but for some of us, it sucks. My partner can fall alseep within a few minutes. For me it can take anywhere from 10 minutes to a couple of hours, even if I'm absolutely exhausted. So one hour doesn't sound wild.

My first dog died at a little over 5.5 years old in my bedroom. It was so traumatic, the stress triggered an autoimmune illness and I haven't been the same since (it's been 3 years and 3 months).

Why are employees so demanding?!
"Great work, but going forward you have to work even harder!" is what our CEO said, among other absolutely outrages comments, some of which have become memes in the company. I wonder why they think I would want to work harder, if I'm not getting my raise anyway 🤷

The hair tends to grow back with PCOS regardless. Some people have better results with electrolysis, but for some the hair still comes back.
