2 Years of updates was my reason. Samsung is up to 7,Apple is about 5 or 6 and Google is 7 years.
Note this is based off of my memory so I could be wrong.

Linux Software to pirate (Davinci Resolve Studio)
I found this activation script for DaVinci Resolve Studio over on Reddit.
Post for those who don't want to visit the site for valid reasons.

Compatibility with zlib-ng: Fedora 40 has switched from using the zlib library to zlib-ng-compat libraries, which affects DaVinci Resolve installation. However, there are workarounds to get it working. Here’s what you can do:
First, install the necessary packages to resolve compatibility issues:
sudo dnf install libxcrypt-compat libcurl libcurl-devel mesa-libGLU --allowerasing
sudo pacman -S fuse2
Next, optimize compatibility by moving some libraries:
cd /opt/resolve/libs && sudo mkdir disabled-libraries && sudo mv libglib* libgio* libgmodule* disabled-libraries
Alternative Installation Method: If the above steps don’t work, you can try installing DaVinci Resolve using the following command (which bypasses package checks):
SKIP_PACKAGE_CHECK=1 ./DaVinci_Resolve_19.0_Linux.run
Next Apply the Crack
sudo /usr/bin/perl -pi -e 's/\x74\x11\xe8\x21\x23\x00\x00/\xeb\x11\xe8\x21\x23\x00\x00/g' /opt/resolve/bin/resolve
and that is it

How do you handle "disable your adblock" type sites?
Most the sites that have that 'feature' usually have a link that says " Continue without disabling adblock" but if I can't find that I use the next site in my search.

Check your DVDs for disc rot — Warner Bros. says it’s replacing them
many of the discs produced by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment (WBHE) between 2006 and 2008 are failing prematurely
he (Damn Fool Idealistic Crusader) says the most reliable way to look for playback problems — DVDs that won’t load at all, freeze while you’re watching the film, or have unplayable special features.
Crusader’s video description links to some Google Docs, one of which is a list he compiled showing what he believes are “known rotted DVD titles” he found reported online
I skimmed over the article to see if whether or not if they're just gonna send you another DVD or if they're gonna do it through other means. I couldn't find anything.

Lets speculate about the steam controllers price
I'm fairly sure that the new controller uses TMR instead of Hall Effect joysticks.
My guess is 80 USD.
I bought a 8 bitdo ult 2 and a 2 c both are great. My only problem is that I wished that the USB stick support multiple controls like the 8 controllers thr Xbox wireless adapter.

Mozilla Firefox Is Officially Getting MKV Video Support
Reply in thread
Firefox enables HEVC on:
- Windows from Firefox 134 using either hardware (on devices that support it, where the range is the same as Edge) or software (on Windows the user must pay for and install an extension)
- macOS from Firefox 136 using either hardware or software.
- Linux from Firefox 137 using either hardware or software (via the system ffmpeg).
- Android from Firefox 137 using hardware only.
Is this what you talking about?

I have some guess as to why there isn't much adoption of av1 by the torrent release groups and sorry for the lack of spell check and double checking fact since it's late for me.
Note: I like av1 but I haven't found it outstanding for anime other than crazy low bit rates and from what I remember it is great with high resolution video which anime isn't know for.
I don't re-encode my rips but I might use it for transcoding for Jellyfin when ever set that up.

From my understanding, some older GPUs don't support frame gen and upscaling. some older games don't have native frame gen or scaling support built in.

https://grapheneos.org/usage source
Avoid Gecko-based browsers like Firefox as they're currently much more vulnerable to exploitation and inherently add a huge amount of attack surface. Gecko doesn't have a WebView implementation (GeckoView is not a WebView implementation), so it has to be used alongside the Chromium-based WebView rather than instead of Chromium, which means having the remote attack surface of two separate browser engines instead of only one. Firefox / Gecko also bypass or cripple a fair bit of the upstream and GrapheneOS hardening work for apps. Worst of all, Firefox does not have internal sandboxing on Android. This is despite the fact that Chromium semantic sandbox layer on Android is implemented via the OS
isolatedProcessfeature, which is a very easy to use boolean property for app service processes to provide strong isolation with only the ability to communicate with the app running them via the standard service API. Even in the desktop version, Firefox's sandbox is still substantially weaker (especially on Linux) and lacks full support for isolating sites from each other rather than only containing content as a whole. The sandbox has been gradually improving on the desktop but it isn't happening for their Android browser yet.
I still use ironfox because of uBlock and dark reader. Cromite is also good.
