Calif. passes strongest right-to-repair bill yet, requiring 7 years of parts
As Louis Rossman said: "if Apple is happy about this, I'm worried."

HP insists you must use their cloud printing service, covers USB port with sticker
Best trick in the book is to download the Windows 7 version of the drivers or software package as it is all prior to this cloud BS. Install that in your windows 10 or 11 and it will all work as intended.

Even if it wasn't human made, if we can do something about it and help ourselves out of it as a result, why shouldn't we? It's crazy that this is even an argument.

Gamers Nexus | The Problem with Linus Tech Tips: Accuracy, Ethics, & Responsibility
Reply in thread
I'm with GN all the way, even more after reading Linus response in the forums. Own up, say you're sorry and action on making it right. Counter arguing whatever you think hurts you has no value, really. GN pointed out the flaws in the LMG business and that's it, nothing personal and good on them for doing it.

Some of that data could be from (or for) customer use, like the service passwords.

Meta putting profit ahead of safety by blocking wildfire news, says Trudeau
It is a trend on all governments to push public services to third parties and, as consequence, social media platforms. How many we see that have their own websites but news and updates only available on twitter or facebook? It's insane, imho.

Threads Has Lost More Than 80% of Its Daily Active Users
Reply in thread
From the get go I thought Threads growth wasn't organic. The low usage stats, imho, only supports that thought. The app isn't bad and if people were really so desperate, they'd stick to it to help it's growth.

Linus Tech Tips pauses production as controversy swirls
Reply in thread
They are running their business like teenage kids. An adult pointed out some flaws and they decided they're a minority and are being oppressed. In reality the adult has 15 times less viewer following than the self proclaimed victims. Also, they treat their crew like dog shit and with that came allegations of misogyny which their behaviour seem to support the idea they are, in fact mistreating women. But without concrete evidence these will have to be considered allegations for the time being.

Frequency Rule

It wouldn't produce anything. For magnets to induce electricity they require a conductor and air isn't one, at least not a good enough one. Without electrical current, there's no voltage, nor constant or oscillating kind of current and therefore no radio frequencies. An electronic crystal and a handful of components could.

Was an on/off service technician/engineer for the last 20 years and can confirm. Many times I'd get a fault call just to arrive, pull out my screw driver and the issue simply resolves itself. It's as if it knows things are getting serious and it's afraid to be taken apart.
