Fidelity cuts Reddit valuation again

I wish more people weren't waiting until June 30 to tentatively make a decision or leave. I have a feeling many of them aren't leaving if they haven't already.

the API changes occur tomorrow, gentlemen, it's been an honor (inb4 Lemmy completely crashes)

There will be some but I doubt that it will be huge enough for Reddit to care. People will use their app, generate ad money. People willing to have ads in their experience probably have a higher tolerance for low quality posts, so any moderation changes likely won't be killer. That's my pessimistic take.

Why do so many tech companies, like Reddit and Twitter are making their platforms worse for their users all of a sudden?

A few companies open the floodgates and takes a lot of the blame, flak, and focus (see: Netflix, Twitter). Other companies can seize the moment and ride the wave to potentially increase profits with less blowback than they might otherwise receive.
