Titanic tourist sub goes missing sparking search

Unless they are coming up on their own, it takes about 2.5 hours to get down to the wreck, and what I've read online is that these subs carry like edit:12 hours of oxygen. Docs on the submarine show 96 hours of oxygen, this was wrong of me to guess

They need to get a towing vessel to the area, they need to get the rescue sub down to the bottom, winch up, and get back up. 6 hours of work once you're there. That means they have less than 4.5 hours to get on station. It's 1000 miles from Boston. Ain't no ship in the world sailing at under 200 knots.

Bad news only from this. They gotta get up on their own.

Are we 'Shadowbanned' from beehaw?

I don’t think that’s a fair assessment. Their platform they want to cultivate is a place where vulnerable populations feel free to open up and share how they feel without fear of reprisal. We should respect that. Here, we may want a little more pushback. Just gotta maintain decency

Don't be discouraged by people saying these protests don't work, or by subreddits going public

I mean, I feel like kbin and lemmy and the whole fediverse thing is working so far. I was worried at first, but then we got federated today and everything popped up and there's actual engagement across the site. I'm really excited about the future for this.

Yesterday I was spending so much time just posting everything I could to all sorts of pages to try to drive engagement and keep people here and I felt like I was running low on steam and today was a sigh of relief.

A San Francisco library is turning off Wi-Fi at night to keep people without housing from using it

Reply in thread

Not the person you are replying to, but that's really uncalled for. It's a difference of opinion and none of us are in the position of decision making for the San Francisco Public Library.

A better policy would be for the city to provide universal Wi-Fi access across the city, instead of putting the burden on one public entity in one part of the city.
