This was disgusting and powerful to read. These types of details about the enslavement of a race not so many generations ago really paint a picture of the persecution of Black people in America. I had never heard of Sugar House or work houses in general. The treatment of trafficked black people is horrifying and to think how much retribution has happened in Germany after the holocaust compared how little has been done in the US is a disgrace.

This is interesting! I believed Fusobacterium was a common and benign bacteria usually found in GI/mouth - the implications for uterine Fusobacterium and it’s relationship to endometriosis is interesting. I’m curious about the link and wonder if the presence of the bacteria could be a confounding or mediating factor rather than the sole cause.
