Would you like to donate a dollar?

Ah, this again.

The mega corporation did not receive any tax benefit from collecting donations. They are able to write off the amount of donations from their income, so that they aren't paying tax on the money they collected specifically to be donated.

  1. Company collects $1 donation from customer
  2. Company has $1 extra income
  3. Company donates $1 to charity
  4. Company writes that dollar off of their income.
  5. Company reports the exact same profit/loss as if they had not collected donations.

Palworld Developer Reveals The Pokémon Patents Nintendo Claims It's Violating

Patent No. 7545191

  • [Patent application date: July 30, 2024]
  • [Patent registration date: August 27, 2024]
  • Relates to a player character throwing an item at a character in the field, which triggers combat.

Patent No. 7493117

  • [Patent application date: February 26, 2024]
  • [Patent registration date: May 22, 2024]
  • Basically an extension of the above, relating to being able to capture Pokémon in the wild rather than just in combat like previous generations.

Patent No. 7528390

  • [Patent application date: March 5, 2024]
  • [Patent registration date: July 26, 2024]
  • Relating to being able to ride creatures in the open world.

Note that every single one of these patents was filed after palworld was released, and they're all awfully vague about what they actually cover.

Clueless about Biology

The lore is that the saarlac actually keeps you alive while digesting you. ~~Like, it puts roots in that act as life support so it has a constant source of protein or whatever. ~~ eh, that last but might not be accurate but there is some kind of enzyme in their stomach that keeps you alive? Whatever.

DIY deportation

FYI because the actual reasons for this feud are under-reported:

  1. Colombia has been accepting deported immigrants for years without complaint. They were being sent by charter or commercial aircraft, and the Colombia government was notified ahead of time that they were coming.

  2. Trump sent a group of deportees on a military aircraft

  3. Trump did not notify Colombia that this aircraft was coming, and as such tried to lands a military aircraft in a sovereign state with no warning

  4. Colombia said fuck that, the plane eventually landed in Honduras, and Colombia sent another plane to pick the people up from there.

  5. Colombia said "what the fuck dude" and Trump the a temper tantrum

  6. Side note, every single one of those deportees was arrested by the Biden admin, so it's not like this is even Trump delivering on his campaign promises. He's just doing a worse job at what Biden was already doing.

I read once that a major reason the coffee is supposed to be good, is that the animals (in the wild) tend to seek out the ripest, healthiest coffee beans to eat. They're abundant (prior to human intervention), so why settle for less?

But then we cage them and force-feed them whatever, so they're just medium (or low) quality beans to start with. So even if you look past the cruelty, it's not even the quality of coffee the reputation suggests.

Tbf, even the "right" way to balance 7 tubes in 24 slots is a bit cursed of you don't look at it as a superposition.

But you've got 3 tubes in an equilateral triangle and 2 pairs mirrored across the center, so we're all good here.
