Give us your craziest ocean facts. 🦑

There are lakes in the ocean called brine lakes/pools. Brine is essentially concentrated saltwater; its high salinity means it's denser than water. On rare occasions, brine doesn't mix enough with the existing saltwater around it, sinking to the bottom of the ocean and forming these lakes. The lake itself is usually devoid of life; brine itself is so salty that animals go into toxic shock if exposed for too long. However, the edges usually are full of life, where usually things like mussels and other extremophile organisms thrive.

Side note, subnautica's lost river is based off of this. No big leviathans in real life though, at least none observed yet...

Discord CEO steps down, replaced with former Activision Blizzard CSO as they work towards being a public company

Discord is never going to be profitable lmao

It can be a loss leader for microsoft, but at the end of the day, discord will always lose money. The operational cost of discord is way too high

This change just means more enshittification like with every ceo change.

Honestly they should just go full on points shops for spending money on xbox, like steam. Give out points to use for customization. That way they could at least make some incentive to use xbox and probably boost sales.

Mobas (and team games in general) have an inherent issue where people dont like to be losing, and when they are, they usually find an outlet by blaming the rest of the team.

Its a pretty huge problem in league because

  1. Behavior problem. Riot has like never addressed the toxicity issue. They've basically said heres some banned words and thats it. People can get by either griefing in game (which has been essentially unpunished) or by typing in non bannable ways (i remember seeing someone using europe as a uhh... You know)
  2. Game design problem. League is pretty punishing when it comes to losing. You're stuck in a game you dont want to play, esp if your team holds you hostage by not surrendering intentionally. There's no fast way to get into a new game. You have to finish this, lose lp (ranked point system in league), and then possibly run into the same situation again. This isn't really riot's fault. This is just a flaw of mobas that no ones learned to really fix yet

Yup. Notorious with usb c cables. Lots of battery powered tools give you a cable that only works for charging, and looks the exact same. I guess you could test the cable and mark them as charge only, but it's a hassle
