The average joe probably didn't even use a third party client for Reddit and absolutely is not affected by the API changes. They're going to browse reddit as if nothing happened.

What do you mean ads lol, there are no ads. You probably did something wrong or got it from the wrong source. I'm not sure there's any credible Vanced source right now, revanced is probably your best bet

I think it looks and feels nice, but I'm encountering all sorts of errors in literally every app (including wefwef, that decided to stop working completely as I tried to open it 5 minutes ago). While trying to comment right now, I got errors twice (this is from Connect for Lemmy).

Lemmy is so good right now for no particular reason

I tried a few apps and they didn't work for me at all (Jerboa and Thunder). Just downloaded connect for lemmy and that seems to be working. HAHAHAHA as I was typing this out I got an error lmao
Edit: after getting the error, I assumed it didn't go through and tried to re-send the comment. Connect gave me no confirmation that it had actually gone through and proceeded to give me another error. So now I'm seeing I put the comment twice on wefwef.app. It's wild trying out like 5 apps in one day. Can't wait for Sync to come!

Pls Help me decide on the most cost effective phone when my biggest deciding factor is a nice camera but I'm not paying $800 for a dang phone
I would definitely suggest either something like a Pixel 7a or an older flagship. I bought a galaxy S20 FE when it was about 1.5 years old and I haven't regretted it one bit. It doesn't have the best camera though, which is why I suggested a "Pixel a" series phone. I would still buy a Samsung phone because I love OneUI, but that's something for you to decide.

It feels like literally any third party app for Reddit AND Lemmy are far smoother than the official Reddit app. What makes it so damn stuttery?

Yeah thought so. I'll use wefwef for now until Sync or Boost comes out I guess.

Sorry for an unrelated question, but I have a doubt about instances. If I have this username and email for lemmy.world, can I use the same username and email for another instance? When I tried creating an account with these credentials on kbin.social, it didn't work and said those values were taken.

If you subscribe to some communities, you WILL have an option to see posts only from those communities, you shouldn't have to go into a community unless you only want to see posts from that particular one. Also, I'm new but the default sort is usually "active", which I assume means posts which have a lot of activity, such as comments. Try setting it to hot or something else to check whether you get a better variety of posts.

It definitely takes good enough photos in the day, but it's quite average when it gets a little darker. And for some reason, it gets blurry with any kind of movement. That I noticed day 1. If someone moved their hand slowly in front of a camera, it produces a blurry image. That doesn't happen even in my old budget phone lol. But I'm very happy with it otherwise, and have taken some photos that I love as well.

Yeah, I'm not surprised that a lot of people in the technical fields used third party apps. I'm talking about the general public that would never know Lemmy exists and would be bored if I even talked for two minutes about a cool app lol (and there are plenty of them).

Oh. I've never seen any ads while scrolling. The buffering does happen to me sometimes though, and it is annoying.

Lemmy resembles the old reddit experience so well that they even emulate the old reddit server performance

That could be the case. But it can also go the other way lol, it could end up being a place where a smaller bunch of insane/bigoted/etc people get together.
