Poilievre says schools should leave LGBTQ issues to parents
Does the CPC have any intentions of making policy and doing something for Canadians? We have a housing crisis, crazy inflation, and climate change that should be areas of focus for any government, but they want to get off attacking trans people. He is not a leader, he is a snake oil salesman and 30% of the country is too brainwashed to act and think like human beings.

This is a huge factor. Rural people pay all of their taxes but from their perspective, they are getting nothing back. There is no point in building a huge new Hospital 50 miles from any settlement, nobody can use it and it will be a complete waste. Why would they ever vote for politicians that plan on spending taxes to fund services, when another group is saying they will cut taxes?

Toronto patient waiting for hospital bed watched for 48 hours as ER staff dealt with flood of sick patients
Who knew that severely underfunding healthcare would cause bad healthcare
Now let's finish the paperwork to create private healthcare companies. Start building some clinics, making sure our friends get all of those sweet government construction contracts. We can even use taxpayer money to fund all of this.

Every developer has opted to pay Montreal instead of building affordable housing, under new bylaw
Developers are the sleaziest slimmest sub-human peices of shit you will ever meet. I used to work in the industry, they are all the same. You could fine them half of the net revenue, and they would still pay the fine over doing anything to help society. It is so lucrative the fine would have to be absolutely enormous to make them not just pay the fine. The fine doesn't really matter anyways because everything is done in credit leveraged against previous projects.

Three stabbed teens were driven from a party to a nearby hospital, only to find that the ER was closed. Their story is one of many
That Possible Solutions section is a crock of shit. The real answer is to stop "starving the beast" and fund healthcare. This isn't real journalism. It's a propaganda piece.

Unity cancels town hall over reported death threats
Unity is done for. Nobody is going to start a new project with their product. Devs are risk adverse. Making a game that is original is already a big enough risk for any studio. Why add an infinite amount of risk but building your game on an engine with unstable management. It is even worth retraining people to use a different engine.

Not going to lie. I have made it really far using Google sheets as a database until I had to move to a full DB. Google Sheets is just an interface to a Google run DB anyways. A lot of the time I would just load sheets(tables) into data structures from a SQL library and use it like a regular database.

Air Canada profits soar amid booming demand for international travel — and ticket prices took off, too | CBC News
Hear me out. Instead of bailing Air Canada out every 15 years, we should be buying into the company. They frequently do share buy backs, they should be buying shared back from us. Why are my tax dollars helping a company that does business unsustainably.

I always loved atomic purple casing. It looks so good on the steam deck. I want to swap out the casings for my Switch joy-cons but have yet to dive in and buy some casings.

The ultimate goal is having no downtime. Ballast gives you that result. The cost of downtime far larger than wasting extra space for ballast.

Unfortunately, totalitarian and oppressive governments have the ability to do whatever they want to their citizens. Expats with relatives living in an unfriendly totalitarian nation are vulnerable to state sponsored extortion. Do you want someone that has a high potential to be exploited in a senior government position? This is an example of the least sinister reason why you would fail a security check. For 1 or 2 years after my divorce, I couldn't get NATO security clearance because people in tenuous financial situations are vulnerable to exploitation. It's a pretty simple concept. With security clearance any risk means you get denied.

It's not even limited to the poor, anyone who is not in the ruling class gets fucked over. A lawyer making a few hundred thousand a year is getting fucked over and thinks they are on top. People with money don't notice that they are getting fucked over because money makes problems go away.

The bills objective is to give journalists compensation for their work. I think Lemmy actually promotes this because people click on the links to try to read the article directly, instead of viewing them through a social media platform acting as a middleman.

The issue isn't that "there are a few bad apples" but half of the basket is rotten to the core. Until the police and systems that regulate police are completely overhauled, we the citizens should not trust the police. The number of "bad apples" is too high to allow the citizens to have confidence in law enforcement.
If three people came up to you and told you a slightly different story but you know one of them is lying. With that risk, do you think it is safe to bother to believe any of them? Even worse is that the other two might be going along with the lie to keep their jobs or not be ostracized by their colleges.

I remember when parties had their platforms in a book that they would make before every election. Now some parties don't even bother having a platform and win elections. People are voting for representatives that not only don't care about representing them, but in some cases straight up have comptent for their constituents.

There is a prominent movement where people don't want to see LGBTQA+ people anywhere. They don't want queer people to exist in their world. It makes them very mad to be exposed to the existence of LGBTQA+ people.
I personally think that they are just some queer people in denial, thinking they are going to catch the gay. Those gay thoughts aren't going to go away for these people no matter how they cater their reality.
