3 weekends til anniversary of 'the tweet', McLaren tail Alpine by 18 points

Reply in thread

Even if McLaren wasn’t that good last year, going to McLaren was still a better choice when it comes to leadership and management. Alpine/Renault has been in management turmoil for a long while now.

Apparently they left him in the dark concerning his future contract with Alpine which according to the rumors clearly stated that they would get him seat either at Alpine or another team before a certain date. They let the deadline lapse and stayed silent and then they unilaterally decided to publicly announce his Alpine seat. He had every reason to leave even if McLaren sucked that season.

Plus how they handled dropping Sainz and Hulkenberg it’s not a surprise that also Alonso was eager to leave.

[Erik van Haren] Nyck de Vries immediately sent away from AlphaTauri. Daniel Ricciardo will replace him in Hungary next week.

Tsunoda was doing better though. Sure if you look at the points and standings you don’t see a big difference. But during race day he almost always managed to increase the gap significantly between him and de Vries during the first stint. The problem is that the car is shit and loses performance at around the 2/3 mark, because the tires lose grip or the brakes become slippery. That’s when he lost significant places in a lot of races

Spelling rule

Yeah why is the “d” still in Wednesday when you don’t pronounce it? Even other Germanic language have removed it. Or do English speaker still honor Odin/Woden?

Where are all the videos and gifs?

Video centric subs existed before Reddit added their own hosting service. Just use a 3rd party service like YouTube. Or setup your own instance and pay for the hosting costs.

Reddit adding video hosting was probably the beginning of the downfall of Reddit. Hosting videos is expensive. So the focus shifted to milking more money out of the users

Game of Thrones was nearly "destroyed" by pirates illegally streaming HBO content

Most people don’t rewatch movies or shows like they do with music. And how often do people, who want to rewatch a show, actually buy the dvd or BluRay once they’ve seen it trough a pirated source that still sits on their hard drive?

Also artists do get paid when a song gets played on the radio. It’s called radio royalties, though only the people that have writing credits get paid.

This is why I like the fediverse. People aren’t desperate to be influencers. Found this post on Threads, and it’s sadcringe material.

In Steam you can add games to your wishlist, if the game gets released or is put on sale Steam will email everyone who wish listed the game. This system has a high sales conversion rate, probably the highest a game developer will ever encounter in their marketing campaign. That’s why indie game devs focus on getting people to wishlist their game. Which they call “getting wishlists”
