Homo Sapiens have existed for around 300,000 years. The earliest know use of currency was around 30,000 years ago. Assuming, when you say 'power', you mean mechanically created energy ie steam power, or electrical power, the first know use of steam power was about 2050 years ago.
So, as humans managed to exist for 270,000 years without money or power, I would say the environment is probably the most important factor.

Not a movie but a Bo-Selecta, a British comedy show from the 90s should definitely get a mention

Criminals cannot be pardoned by Parliament in the UK, only by the reigning monarch, and given the current status of the King's little brother I think that is highly unlikely.

The forest center near me removed the bins. .. From their café/picnic area
I used to work for the Woodland Trust and believe that this is the right thing to do. Bins in woodlands do not get emptied often and will often overflow and attract unwanted pests like rats. Rats will also eat the eggs of ground nesting birds and cause other environmental issues.
If they are selling food on site then the food vendor should have a bin that their customers can use inside their cabin/cafe and dispose of the waste daily as part of the service.

Why do they call it a corn maze and not a maize maze?
Because that would be too corny

Polls don't mean shit. You're gonna need to drag him out of the oval office by his ankles if you want him to leave.

both pretty extreme
Meeting everyone's basic needs isn't even far left. This is how far the Overton window has shifted to the right. Meeting everyone's basic needs is left-of-centre. Far left would be state owned and controlled everything, redistribution of wealth via any means necessary, all public services fully state funded and free for all at the point of use.

Anyway, here are terminal commands you don't understand.
I have no idea what this mean is even trying to say, but as someone who is trying to make the switch to Linux, it is a steep learning curve, even for the most "user-friendly" distros.
A lot of the information in forums assumes some sort of basic knowledge of code and processes which aren't readily available. I've asked a few noob questions and while there are some helpful people out there, there are also a fuck load of assholes who seem to think they walked out the womb speaking Ubuntu.
So my message to those people is, if you're not gonna be helpful, kindly keep your snide comments to yourself.
