Sailfish os?
Personally I would love to see it gaining ground as I would love Europe to have its own phone OS.

I would never recommend bambu products or to install any bambu software. One of our company employees installed bambu studio (for personal needs) and it started immediately to send data to 7 ip addresses which all were linked to malware. Buy Prusa if you want to own your device actually.

Has anyone switched to Jolla C2 / SailfishOS?
Reply in thread
Thank you so much for detailed answer and insight! I am definitely interested to try SailfishOS but would hope a little bit better HW compared to C2. Might still be that I try that one so I have feeling of the SailfishOS.
Extremely glad to hear that your wife has been able to use it as daily driver for so long

YSK that apart from not having a car and voting, the single greatest thing you can do for the climate is simply eating less red meat.
Am I blind or isn't chicken on that list?

I would say that completely FOSS Linux OS won't ever be as smooth experience as business solution. Jolla has developed SailfishOS which is mostly open decade now and it is quite stable. Also has android emulator where you can use most android apps, but not all. In my opinion we should support that as much as possible to have true alternative. Also EU should start supporting ita development

Thank you so much for your insight! Definitely interesting to hear how it feels for new person. I have thoughts so that using the phone would feel very different from android/ios people are used to. But as you mentioned maybe not in bad way at all.
Have you experienced any hiccups or major bugs that have required deep debugging or booting the phone? What are your thoughts of the native browser? Have you been able to use maps like HereWeGo successfully?

best print farm 3d-printer for PETG?
I would give vote for Prusa Core one. Not the cheapest but great support and very reliable work horse. Currently only option is MMU3 but they have announced that they are working new solution

I at least hope they would put effort to non Android OS. Why put effort to Android OS if most people would like get rid of USA dependency? I would love them to offer support for SailfishOS, which can still run Android apps in container and most of them work, including a lot of banking apps

Sailfish Weather is now open sourced!
Reply in thread
Could you tell me that would change things? As most of it is already open source, how could it suddenly make it even better alternative with everything open sourced?

Isn't SailfishOS the Linux phone we need?
Reply in thread
Well most of it is open source. And opening all the time more. So stating it is closed source is not true

Still most of it open source and they are gradually opening even more. I cant see it opening completely and I think it is better that way. I don't believe either that without business incentive we will ever get as polished alternative as android/ios

@keepandroidopen — this is the final push for our freedom of choice. Without swift action, Europe risks losing control and paying a high price to stay connected to the digital world we value.

I don't know if you are bot or something, but SailfishOS isn't something that was made together with Russian?
