I’m glad they’re not doing it there… the Apple Store has a bunch with nonsense one line sentences with no grammar or punctuation. One of them even references a different app.

My favorite summer soup!
As a a died in the wool Lithuanian through band through it gave me a warm feeling seeing this on Lemmy as the Lithuanian subs are not yet populated so this has been a glaring hole in my feed.
For anyone interested there is a winter version simply called ‘Barščiai’ which is also amazing.
Skanaus!

Only the evidence I put in my comments, all of the recent 5 star reviews have no constructive information in them other than a few random words.
They look really suspicious and the FTC would be able to verify their authenticity.

I would agree with you except the actual reviews look really suspicious. They come in blocks of 2-3 next to each other and they are all nonsense. And there’s a fair amount of them.
If this were a highly regarded, honest company I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Having seen numerous examples of their dishonesty in the past month I would say this is par for course.

Firmware.

FIRMware is SOFTware (code) that contains the instructions to run HARDware. In most cases you would experience it, hardware is running an OS (Operating System) which manages all of the firmware ‘packages’. Many electronics, particularly more sophisticated, have firmware that is directly loaded onto the device which has a proprietary OS with limited to no graphical interface.
I am a layperson so if an expert can weigh in on my take I’d appreciate it!

That’s the end goal but it’s a ways until we get there. In the mean time one of the good ways to be sure we have lots of content here is scraping Reddit.
This is also directed at those who are already posting Reddit content here.

Does anyone know why I’m unable to submit a new post to this sub? I’ve tried both from the wefwef safari and chrome web apps and it keeps timing out.

We did it Lemmy!

I get the impression that the goal is more to have Lemmy fill the hole that Reddit has left rather than duplicating it in some way; Take the good and leave the bad.

If we call reddit users redditors, what do we call lemmy users

I second this one. Even though it’s fairly close to Lemmings, it does roll of the tongue and is unique enough from any other title.

why is lemmy filled with porn?
I’ve found that if I disable NSFW in my profile I don’t see any.

And you just know this shit is going to follow him for life. Rich people tend to be smart and have long memories.
Can you imagine walking into Cannes and all of the other rich people point, look, and laugh under their breath?
Or walking past /spez’s 45” Bayliner sniggering about how he thinks he’s made it with his ‘yacht’.
If the pitchforks ever come out I would hate to be in his shoes.

Should we change app names?

I second this, it gives the impression that you’re setting out on a journey when you enter the fediverse which seems appropriate.
