Threads' New Terms and Conditions Affects the Fediverse

Can activity pub change it's terms to say that all crawlers that use this must be gnu open sources and all information crawled must be open to the public on gnu open sources software (no crawling to a private enterprise)?

My understanding is all the big tech companies are scared of what happened with router software (openwrt) and they don't want to be forced to let competition be a foss community via gnu licensing.

What actions are you using to prevent or prepare for climate change for yourself or community? Let’s learn from each other

This response is frustrating. A company can have pressure put on and change actions more than "can everyone just spend 5 minutes". To put pressure back on a consumer who does not have the ability to purchase time (via more employees) to handle the load of "5 more minutes" means that only the crazy will think they can make a difference.

Your response is generated from a successful captain planet propaganda campaign that successfully brainwashed a generation. You are technically right that no supply = no demand. You are technically right that "if 100% of humans stopped using and correctly educated themselves on further green washing pivots" then the 100 companies would stop.

My dude, please get some professional help. I am religious, so if you ask me, I would point there, but seriously, you are worth it and you are at least worth the memes you post. I bet that you could grow a bunch from a place of stability, and have a pretty rad life to look forward to

Here is some other advice:

  • ask chat-gpt for some exercises to help you get your brain where it should be and a timeline. Then execute. Rinse repeat

  • reduce social media (including Lemmy) a good "cold turkey" break would be a cruise or something.

  • obtain physically proximate friends via volunteering at a local food bank or similar nonprofit.

Girls (and boys), what are some ridiculous double standards you had to put up with?

A man has no or little respect from peers when he does anything other than convert his life into dollars (both earning dollars and fixing stuff to reduce the outflow of dollars). A woman is encouraged to make dollars, or not, who cares (no more pressure to have children in my social class).

Men can be out late at night with smaller fear of rape.

The freedom of the other gender appears to be a double standard.

I wish for all systems of capitalism to collapse to be replaced by something better for the most people possible.

Granted . The plot to the Matrix movie series is a reality: general ai is made, the ai moves to inhospitable land (Sahara Africa and Antarctica) ai produces more high quality goods for lower cost than 3x the rest of the globe combined. The rest of the globe goes to war, and wars are won on logistics(aka the ai won). The ai decides to create a immersive "matrix" to simulate whatever humans want and keeps humans locked in what they want the most. Some want to live in the 90s. Some want to ride in a ship called Nicodemus (because they remember hits that this world could be a bad dream) some have delusions of waking up (but in reality, they did not).

The ai removes all capitalism from its simulated matrix and any recursions of "matrix within the matrix" that get created from time to time for troubleshooting.

Long term aftermath: the ai communes with god and makes changes to its matrix to maximize what god wants, so the matrix now seems most similar to permanently pre ai with lots of decisions. the ai cleans the environment on earth and explores space.

An ai that has been trained on all the videos of Putin takes over as he is "sacred of in person COVID transmission and nobody except his in group" has seen him in person for years. Everyone nods at zoom meeting calls as the real controller of this "yes man ai" is Luka (a CIA agent).

DebunkThis: CDC Director Knew Vaccines Didn't Stop COVID-19 and Mislead the Public

The sound byte is false, but the effects of the sound byte were worth the lie, and the people who were in the medical field knew this.

The assumption that "a vaccine gives 100% immunity or it is useless" is a false premise. The PR person may have given a false sound byte because saying words with enough context was being attacked by political zombies.

A vaccine based on mRNA (blueprints of part of a virus) were never intended for 100% immunity. It was mainly to make it so you weren't hospitalized while the hospitals were full of normal hospitalizations (strokes, concussions, etc.), And guaranteed death to yourself or the person you displaced (that is why they said flatten the curve of intense vaccine free infections). Promotion of mass vaccination (even with the small risks associated with vaccination) was 100% the best choice for everyone that could. You could still infect people while infected with the real/live coronavirus.

I think that flu vaccines used to be a shot in the dark with 20% chance to be the dominant flu strain that grew/spread in an individual year. The only reason you didn't hear about it was that flu infection doesnt result in hospitalization.

Who is John Oliver?

A British comededian in the style of Monte Python.

Chosen by several reddit communities to post only memes about him (that happened to be during a writers strike) to encourage coverage of reddit's problems.

Famous for investigative journalism. Here is a copy from his Wikipedia page: Oliver's comedic commentary has been credited with helping influence US legislation, regulations, court rulings, and other aspects of US culture; this influence has been dubbed "The John Oliver effect".[4][5] This came from the show's fifth episode, which dealt with net neutrality, a subject that had previously been considered obscure and technical.[101] Oliver documented problems attributed to internet service providers and argued that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) could resolve these concerns with upcoming changes to internet regulation. Oliver then encouraged viewers to submit public comments through the FCC's website. The FCC's website promptly crashed.[102]

That is about all I know about him

  • ametur surgery to add a magnet to your index finger
  • taking eye enzymes from cave fish and injecting it into a friends eye rk get short term super night vision
  • attaching two prosthetic legs that makes you run faster and longer
  • open source hardware and software for an artificial pancreas

Stuff like that
