I only knew a couple of blue 100%, but my guesses on the other two worked out.

Stick PC for a media client?
I run an older Raspberry Pi (B?) with Kodi + Jellyfin on it as my client for my TV. I know Pis specifically aren't a great value proposition anymore, but the hardware is really unimpressive and it works just fine - so you don't need much.

I'm pretty sure mine is a 2B as well, but I'd have to go digging behind the TV to know for sure. I know it's not newer than that. It works fine for me running LibreElec+Kodi+Jellyfin, but I don't play anything more complicated than 1080p h264. If you want HD or Atmos or whatever complications, yeah, you'll want hardware decoding.
The ethernet jack is also a plus for me, but I think most video will stream satisfactorily over WiFi these days.

Thank you - good catch! I'm not at all sophisticated about PT lumber. I'll prop it up on some of those pavers there.

I didn't know there was such a thing. I'll check it out next time I'm at the hardware store.
I really should round over the tops of the uprights so they don't absorb as much rain, but sealer would definitely help.

Fan-made Mario Kart 64 PC port released, with track editor and ultrawide support
Might as well link to it:

You need to supply your own ROM of the correct version.

Can you un-smart a smart tv?
‘splurging’ on a dumb tv
This might not be the best advice if money is an object, but some LG OLEDs can be rooted simply by visiting a website:
http://rootmy.tv
So you get a top-quality screen and complete control over the software.
Personally, I've never connected my LG OLED to the internet and it works just great.

Quick! Someone tell us why this isn't a good thing because the government did it! Surely there's some secret corruption at work!

End of the Road - Anandtech has closed down
Wow, that takes me back. I used to prefer Anandtech to Ars Technica, Hot Hardware, Tom's Hardware, etc.
But I haven't visited any of them in like a decade, so I can see why they might be shutting down.
