Making money with sunslag

I have, in the past, gotten my "money economy" going by waiting until I could kill a salt kraken, which has a valuable corpse. Picking it up, then recoiling next to a merchant with a lot of stuff. Once that's going, it's cloning draught and metamorphic polygel.

But a much easier route: Just get some sunslag (found by exploring in the Palladium Reefs). Drop a dram into the river of primordial ooze in the Rainbow Wood. Wait a bit, and you'll have a monosludge with a radiant pseudopod forming. Then run around and let it throw dilute sunslag at you, which will generate a lot of that. Even dilute, it's quite valuable.

Maybe this was obvious to other people, but took me a bit.

Caves of Qud dev teases "at least three" expansions for the sci-fi roguelike

This announcement flew a bit under the radar for me. Interested to see what it will bring. New types of playable creatures sounds intriguing for sure

"We're going to be focusing development into a few big expansion packs that will come out one by one over the next few years," Freehold explains. "Each expansion pack will be paired with a big update to the base game. The base-game updates will be free, and the expansion packs will be purchasable as DLC. The first one will likely come out sometime next year. We have at least three sketched out, but time will tell what they look like beyond the first."

As for what we can expect, Freehold suggests "things like new types of playable creatures, underground villages, new mechanics, and expanded lore." It says that, with each release, "both the expansion pack and its paired base-game update will have a lot of stuff in them," but notes that it will decide on a case-by-case basis whether features feel like core upgrades or something better suited to the DLC.

How hard do you dump your dump stats?

I've been making some builds and wondering how unbalanced my stats should be in creation... up to 18 points (pre modifiers), one statpoint costs 1 point and above it costs 2, so I have been leaning towards quite balanced setups, where I don't buy many of the 2 point increases at all and then also have all stats at 16-18. Just not sure if that's the way to go, or if I should actually dump sole stats harder (e.g. Int or Ego) to get a bigger + in my main stat(s)

Qud Posting

Twilight gives way to the blackness of light as Nyaruth warms their aged leather man-tortise skin against the fire. They cook up a meal made of bear, crocodile, and fruit jam. A large dragonfly with muscular wings buzz fiercely nearby, combining with he droning hum of glowpads to finalize a symphony with crackling of fire. In the distance, the howling and snarling indicating pack of snapjaw-kin.

After the bedroll is layed, a soft cloth tunic is abstracted into makeshift pillow. Nyaruth readies themselves for sleep. They stash a pair of their finest daggers neath the cloth as done thousands of times before.
