A fresh update is here! This release brings initial support for PieFed. The PieFed API is still under development, so some features are limited, but here’s what’s new:
Give it a try and let me know how it works for you!
Hi Lemmy! I've just uploaded a new version, this is the changelog:

Since I started using Boost years ago, I've noticed that private message notifications don't really seem to clear, even after reading and responding to the message. They eventually go away after maybe a month or so but during that time it still reads that I have an unread message. I can't find any way to manually clear them that seems to stick. Mark All As Read does nothing.
Is this a bug or am I missing something?
I'm using Boost for Lemmy on Android (Pixel phone)
Edit: Mark All As Read is the double checkmark button. It doesn't always work.
I'm currently trying out Boost for Lemmy. For some reason, the thumbnails look milky and blurry. They have a kind of light haze over them. I haven't seen this with other clients. Is there a way to turn this off somewhere? Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a setting for it. Im not talking about this nsfw pictures.
In another client—I think it was called “Connect”—there’s a feature that combines cross-posts into a single post (or hides the other ones). Is there something similar in Boost for Lemmy?
Hi everyone, I accidently muted someone in the Boost app. How do I un mute that person again 😅? Thanks
Example:
| Column 1 | Column 2 |
|---|---|
| Cell 1, Row 1 | Cell 2, Row 1 |
| Cell 1, Row 2 | Cell 1, Row 2 |
How it's in the browser:
In the example I'm sorting by new but all the posts are 2y old.
The thumbnail in the feed appears, but when you click to enlarge, it just shows a black screen.
Click the chain icon makes it load in the browser, so I think it's not a connection or availability issue.
This user account has a RTL username, and the timestamp is getting placed inside the name.
First of all, I want to thank you for developing this app and for the ongoing support.
When switching to Piefed recently I noticed that, for some posts, Boost only shows a very small subset of the actual replies. I have attached an example where this discrepancy is pretty obvious. To my knowledge, this does not occur when using a Lemmy instance.
Here is the link to the example post on piefed.world:
When opened in Boost, only 3 "top-level" replies are shown and the number of nested replies also only sums up to 10.
When viewing the post on the piefed.world web interface, however, logged in with the same account, many more replies are shown.
I tried removing all blocks/mutes in the settings of the app, but the problem persists.
I keep seeing this ad when viewing posts
I know not to open it. But someone like my father would blindly listen to this and install whatever junk this is trying to install.
Native to Lemmy are a bunch of metrics about a community. Posts or comments/day or month, active user count, etc. It would be nice to see these in Boost, both in the sidebar and in some capacity the full list of communities.
Now on version 1.0.31, crashes every time if I scroll too far or look at my subscriptions.
Keep rocking it!
I'll launch the rocket 😁 (again).
Edit: Video: https://youtube.com/shorts/PH8j9iUiDRI I'll have to get myself on PeerTube, sorry.
Here is a feature request.
I really appreciate that Lemmy is finite and I can get to the end of my feed.
I have Boost set so that when I scroll past posts they are marked as read. But I can't scroll past the very last posts in my feed.
I wish that when I got to the bottom of my feed and kept scrolling the last posts went off the top of the screen, leaving me with an empty screen.
And I furthermore wish that if I kept scrolling past this point that it invoked the Clear Read function.
As it is, I scroll past all of my posts and then get to the last few. Then I have to manually click the last few as Read. And then I have to do a little bit more scrolling the opposite direction to get the little floating menu button to appear, and from there I can in two clicks choose Clear Read.
That's a lot of work to get rid of the last few items in my feed that already have negative scores so that they don't show up the next time I open Boost.
I just want to be able, in one smooth motion, to scroll to the end of the Internet and be done for a while.
A few of the features are also available in Piefed. It might be helpful to implement them both at once :)

I opened this thread and clicked the image to zoom and it was all blurry. I thought the Op had out in. Low quality image to the post but when I clicked and downloaded the image and opened it, the image was much higher quality.
Is this someone using the "thumbnail" field in the post feature which maybe isn't used that often which is why it hasn't come up for me before? I'm no fediverse expert, is it someone cross posting from another linked site or app and that's why it's displaying differently?
Just strange to have such a low quality image when clicking on the image to view vs. downloading a higher res version.
TIA

How to install: in boost, go to settings, advanced, backup, and hit import app settings and select the file
FAQ: 1: What's blocked?: Mostly US politics based keywords, and most country names, as well as common political words, plus various news communities or ones that had mostly political content
2:Is this a virus?: nope, just a JSON you can open in your favorite text editor to check. your call though.
3:I don't like this because X: Calmly and firmly position X towards your backside and insert into your anal cavity
4:I still see some political stuff!: yeah the filters not perfect but I've gotten a majority of political content off my c/all. Add what you feel you need, this is just a framework
5: Why didn't you add X keyword?: boost seems to use a substring method when filtering, meaning if I add "republic", that blocks any post containing "Republic of congo" or "republican". I have noticed crashing after a certain high number of filter keywords so I have cut down the list quite a bit. You should be okay to add more though
6: 600 word explanation on why blocking politics is morally wrong: refer to solution #3
7: will you update this?:maybe, but it will be infrequent and it's not like I have a better way to auto push updates to boost so you would have to come back and download it. Seems not worth the trouble
That's it, lmk what you think and if it works well for you!
Shouldn't they open in the app? Is it possible to implement this behavior?
