[MODPOST] Community FAQ (Subject to Change based on responses)

F.A.Q

Here's a quick FAQ, which will be slowly expanded on in the future.

Q. How can I join the Discord server?

A. Click Here!

Q. Where can I reach the Community Mods?

A. If you have questions and concerns, preferably reach us via the discord server above. The Lemmy messaging system is currently not the best right now, but I am sure it'll get better with time.

Q. Where can I get Bionicle pieces and/or sets?

A. Bricklink, Brickowl, Ebay, and Craigslist(or local equivalent) are good places to look.

Q. Where can I find a specific piece?

A. All Lego pieces(save a few, insubstantial number) have ID numbers on them. Look for that number, and search for it on sites like Bricklink.

Q. How much is my set/mask worth?

A. Check with Bricklink, or join our discord. We have some collectors who could probably help you with this if you need.

Q. What are some digital designers I can use to build and design MOCs?

A. Lego's LDD, or Lego Digital Designer is a common and popular one, but does not have much variety of Bionicle parts. Stud.io, found on Bricklink, is a newer option that would be better recommended to Bionicle fans.

L. LDD L. Stud.io

Making Mata Nui Island

I'd like to introduce a project I've started that I'll hopefully continue through completion. I'm a skilled blender artist, and I want to use those skills to make the most graphically impressive mata nui I can make. I know how to texture it, model all the little Koros and fill it with foliage. I'm starting with this depth map provided by Mr Faber. It's a bit lo-res and I heard he used world machine to make it. Maybe I can find a better approach through sculpting. Here's a link to my demo reel(soundwarning): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1TGbW56UFDTaohnO8qBodsnDhvxR03xQZ/view?usp=drivesdk

Tanma (from Bionicle)

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.world/post/35080967

My work on Project Mata Nui Rising (where I contribute as an environmental artist) inspired me to also make this. I'll be making a few more cool renders with this guy, (hopefully collabing with someone who can do way better box-art). For this render I chose to copy the original set's box-art (To make the background I took the original image and crudely blotted-out the LEGO set).
