PRIMAL: 'The Dead Cast No Shadow' S03E05. Spoilerzone.

The gang is all back together- Spear, Fang, and Mira reunited at last!

Although Fang isn't entirely on board with trusting Undead Spear.

Spear isn't really himself at the start of the episode, but Mira accepts him and tries to communicate. This helps bring out more of Spear's personality.

Spear and Fang teaming up to hunt a wild boar was a great sequence, brought Spear out even more, and was a great reversal to a sequence in an early episode, though Gang still got the food in the end.

Seeing Fang's kids get tired and be dramatic was great humor.

The baboons coming out of nowhere to kill off the two remaining members of Mira's party was a little sad, as though guys had been great comic relief earlier.

The final action sequence was on point. It combined overwhelming numbers with creatures that were legitimate 1v1 threats. Still no match for the main man though.

Spear saving Mira was very emotional. I really liked how much of his personality was back by the end of the episode. Spear was incredibly expressive at the end. Even Fang's kids liked him, even if Fang is the only holdout that doesn't fully trust him.

The best episode of the season, and bringing high hopes now that everyone is together, and Spear has gotten his groove back.

PRIMAL: 'Prey For The Wicked' S03E04. Spoilerzone.

A Mira and Fang centered episode. It opens with a jump back to Spear's funeral. There were some really great angles and shots to build a solemn mood.

Some time for mourning goes by, but eventually when things are just starting to seem normal the village is attacked by Entelodonts (pre-historic boarlike creatures), who kill a few villagers before retreating off with a number more live villagers in their clutches, including a child.

The village puts together a rescue party that includes Mira, Fang, and Fang's two offspring.

The party tracks through the wilderness before being ambushed by a huge number of Entelodonts. The combat animation is, as expected, top notch and brutal.

Eventually the party is outmatched and even Fang looks like she won't be able to take out all of the pack.

The Entelodonts catch the smell of something and instantly flee. The rescue party braces for whatever it is that made the predators flee. Out of the shadows steps Spear. Roll credits.

I liked this episode. It gave Mira and Fang great interplay and characterization. It made them active characters rather than Spear alone pushing the plot forward. The early reuniting of the gang means that all the consequences will have time to breathe.

I've seen some people online get worked up about the logistics/timeline of Spear and Mira meeting up, but I personally set all that to the side. In the complaints I've seen there seems to be an unspoken assumption all parties were heading in straight lines and trying to do it at a maximum speed. Simply by putting that assumption aside, the problems are non-problems. I've seen also some intense theorycrafting on the exact social status of the shaman and his relation to the village, and it all seems overly complicated where a simple answer suffices or it is going for such in the weeds details that the presentation of the show either can't or probably shouldn't linger on it.

PRIMAL: 'Feast of Flesh' S03E03. Spoilerzone.

My favorite episode this season so far. Spear is really starting to regain his sense of self. He's doing his classic jumping movements, and he's managed to even befriend a grasshopper.

The art is of course amazing. I feel like the artists are really learning how to make Zombie Spear's face more expressive.

The troglodytes were creepy.

I was initially bummed out in not getting a big fight scene in the first encounter, but the end of the episode completely made up for it. The trog's cave was gross and I'm honestly shocked it is something that aired on [AS]. I'm not even going to screenshot the gory corpses of trog victims. The fight was satisfying, though a bit sad both seeing Spear get even more physically damaged and seeing the grasshopper.

Unrelated to the plot, I caught some slight smearing in the animation by chance when I was screenshotting. I think it's neat.

People Watching Season 3 Trailer

For those of you unfamiliar, People Watching was an Adult Animated series on the Cracked YouTube Channel from 2017-2018.

It was written, directed, and animated by the Canadian Illustrator, Winston Rowntree.

The plot revolved around the observations and day to day lives of a group of millenials. The episodes are filled with pop culture references, introspections on mental health, gender identity, sociopolitical issues, and more.

The show was one of many gems the channel was putting out at the time (After Hours being another of my personal favorites), and I was truly sad when I saw its last episode as I felt there was so much more to work with and I appreciated the voice acting and art style a lot.

So you can imagine my delight when I stumbled across this trailer in my feed!

If you haven't seen the first two seasons, I highly recommend you check out People Watching Seasons 1 & 2.

Be warned, there are some heartbreaking emotional moments in this show, but it can be so cathartic as well at times. Give it a watch if you're so inclined.

EDIT: Removed repetitive phrasing.

EDIT: and the premiere for season 3 is out.

PRIMAL: 'Kingdom Of Death' S03E02. Spoilerzone.

I just caught up on the second episode of the season. On one hand its great to see Spear regaining memories and purpose, on the other it is hard watching him taking more damage that isn't healing.

The opening of the episode with these pre-historic antelope things was great to watch. Just a nice extended sequence of nature in Primal's setting.

Spear continues on and starts hallucinating, so I guess the giant fly from the trailers wasn't literal.

Spear meets "himself" and remembers his iconic weapon.

Awesome to see him get a spear at the end of the episode and show that he's still got his spark.

I'm curious where his journey is taking him exactly (to Fang and Mira for sure, but I'm not sure where they are) and how he knows where to go.

PRIMAL season 3.

What's everyone's thoughts on season three? 'Vengeance of Death' came out last sunday, and a new episode is coming this sunday.

I'm intrigued at Spear's new condition and a big part of me wants him to get properly, magically fixed but I don't think this is a show with happy ends to stories.

I'm new here and I just wanted to mention one of my favourite animated adult series, The Midnight Gospel

@adult_animation I'm new here and I just wanted to mention one of my favourite animated adult series, The Midnight Gospel
I consider this series to be exclusive to adult audience due to it's level of complexity. Of course, if you are not an expert in philosophy and budism, the experience could be a bit confusing, but, is it a privilege as an adult to see something in tv that you don't understand at all? Is it uncertainity the thing that moves you to grow up and change?
