Don't ever join the infantry, I imagine you in camouflage approaching the enemy - and you stand up and shout "Please, I need to stay hidden - so let me know if you can see me so that I can hide more effectively".

For the subscription, it's worth trying to unsubscribe and try again - sometimes it doesn't quite go through especially as lemmy.world was overloaded and it might have missed the response from lemmy.ml as a result.
Thanks. I unsubbed and subscribed again with no change. It appears that I can participate directly, but content doesn't show up on my feed. Same with a bunch more communities.

I can see it. I had the same kind of problem off and on this week. I joined two different instances, and used two different apps. I started to think the problem was me but I think it's starting to work itself out now
