Visiting Taipei - what are some hidden gems

I'll be visiting Taipei later this summer for a few days. What are some hidden games? I am most excited to see the old Spanish fort, the palace museum, and the indigenous park which will be a day trip away. Are there any hidden gems in Taipei I should out on my list?

Take a bus to Yeh Liu geological park. A bus leaves every hour from Taipei Main station. It's a beautiful park on the ocean with a lot of cool geological formations. It's really famous domestically but not a lot of foreigners know about it. It only takes an hour to get their from Taipei Main station.

Lots of great parks!

Huashan 1914 Cultural Park is nice to walk around. Sometimes they have little markets.

Yuanshan Park is one of my favorites. Check out the little grocery store there, get some food from one of the stalls and have a picnic on the lawn!

In my experience, around 4 to 5 onwards anywhere you go with large green areas is the time for mosquito annoyance. Otherwise I have not notice them much.
