That was a straight fad. Now it's a gay fad. Lotta hateful crazy people. Soooo the fact that someone may try to attack me for wearing such things even if I want to.

The gays ruin all the fun.

Just like wrestling in the showers.

I live down the street from a college. Many of my neighbors are college students. I've seen roughly this look on a handful of very young men in the last year. I've seen guys in their early 20s/late teens playing sports in roughly this outfit. It is coming back/fashion is more fluid these days. There are still trends, but many young people wear all sorts of stuff that just looks good on their bodies with little regard for era or popularity.

That's currently what I'm seeing in terms of style these days. The prevalence of body positivity has allowed people to wear things that flatter themselves. There will always be the crowd that tries something new, but no one is going to be shunned for trying something that works or is comfortable.

Since I don't recognize these movies I'm half tempted to think these are just shots from gay porn intros.

The first picture is the first A Nightmare on Elm Street (thats Johnny Depp, fyi). I think the second picture is the second Nightmare movie (it has a baseball game in gym class scene but I'm not sure if that's it). I couldn't tell you what the last picture is from but I would guess one of the Friday the 13th movies.

Edit: I think the second and third pictures go together. Maybe they're both Nightmare 2 but I'm not sure.

While I could say my gut/lack of hunkiness/taste but....

I really, really don't want to attract serial killers.

These are also the guys who gets stabbed to death with a rusty fork by a masked murderer. Im not saying wearing crop tops causes violent death but there seems to be a correlation

I mean, small sample size, but I've never worn a crop top and I haven't been brutally murdered, well, yet.

My enormous gut, which I guarantee you don’t want to see

Ha ha that's as funny as the time the other person made the same exact joke before you but you can't be bothered to read comments before you reply so you made the same funny joke!! Ha ha

I don't even mind. You went into more detail. It's not as though you copied word for word.

That hasn't stopped you from showing your buttcrack, it shouldn't stop you from showing your belly.

Truthfully it's mainly because of sexism and how people think that certain clothes = certain sex and gender or sexual orientation.

10

So what? What’s it matter if people think I’m straight?

My belly would get cold. I always wonder how women tolerate it.

10

I have gay friends that wouldn't be caught dead wearing that.

I guarantee that "style" was because a producer wanted the guys to dress like that.

9

I live in a fashion-forward neighbourhood (for North America, at least (which doesn't say much)), and there were definitely straight dudes rocking this look this summer.

Where the fuck would I even find a crop top in mens sizes?

5

Doesn't quite work with the whole "aging sasquatch, ex power lifter/dadbod" combo I tend to have.

I tend to scare adults when I'm shirtless for some reason. I can't imagine this would be any better.

Nothing more attractive than folks wearing sexuality-agnostic clothes. Especially if they realize “appearing ‘gay’ ” is nothing to be ashamed of.
