The whole concept of a government banning access to drugs has no moral justification in any coherent normative system ever concocted. What is the argument here? Some bureaucrat incomprehensibly stupider than I am gets to decide what I do with my own body? What I am “legally” allowed to ingest? Unless the drug in question can make me explode, posing a danger to others, there’s simply no reason to prevent me from having as much of it as I want.

Unless the goal is to excuse the expansion of the surveillance state.

Yeah, I don't understand it either, where I live the go will go out of their way to destroy your life if you dare ingest something they don't like.

The institute's founding purpose was to create "scientific research on the entirety of sexual life" and educate German society on its findings.[6] It pioneered research and treatment for various matters regarding gender and sexuality, including gay, transgender, and intersex topics. In addition, it offered various other services to the general public: this included treatment for alcoholism, gynecological examinations, marital and sex counseling, treatment for venereal diseases, and access to contraceptive treatment. It offered education on many of these matters to both health professionals and laypersons.[7][8]

After the Nazis gained control of Germany in the 1930s, the institute and its libraries were destroyed as part of a Nazi government censorship program by youth brigades, who burned its books and documents in the street.[9][10][11]

large numbers of former Nazi Party members and wartime police personnel were reinstated in the police service.[12]

Since at least the 2010s, police forces in Germany — including those serving the city of Berlin — have been subject to investigations and disciplinary proceedings over alleged far-right extremist views or membership among officers. A 2024 report noted that more than 400 investigations were underway in German state police forces for possible right-wing extremist beliefs or conspiracy ideology.[17] In Berlin specifically, internal records showed investigations of dozens of officers: by 2020, the Berlin police reported about 33 officers under investigation since 2017 for extremist activity (including Nazi salutes) and four dismissal proceedings.[18] In late 2020, the Berlin police chief stated that almost 40 disciplinary proceedings were underway relating to suspected right-wing extremism within the force, and acknowledged the possible dismissal of about twenty officers.[19]

Every single time trans people start gaining acceptance the fascists start getting uppity and burn everything down. These obsessive weirdos will betray every principle they claim to have if they get the opportunity to harm someone who bucks the patriarchy.

is DIY HRT illegal in Germany? Sure lack of doc care is meh, but illegal already?

For being accused of illegal drugs, that's something police should check... like, we (I speak as trans here) we are normal people too, not saints, some do some illegal stuff too, and we are not above the law. If police had serious base of thinking, some drug dealing happens, they going in.

The drama, how the police acted in there? was they any extra brutal because of suspect were queer? Did they lack some item care, were disrespectful, insulting or violent?

edit - quick research, diy is afaik legal, some foundations calls for being safe on overdosing and doing blood tests, common thing, found no warning about dealing with illegal drugs.

We're not talking about narcotics here. We're talking about hormonal medications, estrogen and testosterone. Estrogen for example isn't a controlled substance. Possessing DIY estrogen is not a crime. But making it or dispensing it without a license is. The pharmacist's trade is heavily regulated. Legally one cannot simply open an unlicensed compounding pharmacy in one's garage, even if you never touch controlled/scheduled medications. In theory, you could probably get in trouble for making your own Tylenol pills, simply because that would be practicing medicine without a license.

But normally police wouldn't bother with such operations. I've seen examples of raids of people running massive operations selling bootleg weight loss medications. But a volunteer group giving out hormones? Never happens. Objectively, it's simply not a good use of scarce taxpayer dollars. There are always bigger fish to fry.

Half meme, but I dare to say, hrt is bit addictive. Once taken, going back is not an option for many.

Then, I doubt many common transgender, even at some foundation or queer organisation, can make estro (article was about raiding transfem spot) at garage. At best, it could be sharing legally acquired, taxed and imported diy, like sharing ibuprofen? Would sharing a painkiller pill be illegal?

I highly guess, some bigot hater did spread fake news about horrible things that happens there, and police had to go fair duty, secure stuff for further tests. The question, drama, how they did that, could be even fake alarm from fairly angry and disappointed members of an queer organisation. Would be angry too if such happens to me.

How do you think DIY HRT works? Yes, sometimes people order actual manufacturer-made medications sold by overseas pharmacies. But that's not what people are talking about when they say homebrew hrt. Quite a lot of homebrew trans HRT is literally made in basement labs.

Most homebrew HRT is made by people in unlicensed compounding pharmacies. These community labs don't actually synthesize the active ingredients chemically. Rather, providers will order the raw active ingredients - such as estradiol enanthate powder - from overseas suppliers, usually Chinese companies that don't ask too many questions. They'll get the raw powder and then compound their own injection vials from it. This can be done safely in a garage or basement lab, if the right equipment is used. But make no mistake, a substantial portion of the trans community is currently getting by with HRT compounded in labs built in private homes. The people who do this tend to be trans themselves and usually not in it for the money. The quality is usually pretty good, as the providers tend to do it more as a community service project than a for-profit business. There's less incentive to cut corners if you're not actually trying to make a profit.

German police will raid trans people who teaching others how to use crypto to by hrt.

Meanwhile the AfD will be literal Nazis and nothing is done. Sounds like the application of the law is not just, and cops aren’t simply going after crimes but are politically motivated in what they choose to enforce.

19

By quick research again, crypto is also fully legal?

afd (lower letters intended) being dicks is another story, they surely using any way to make queer or migrant life harder, including notifying police of fake stories, that police, well, gonna check.

For nothing being made to stop nazi fucks, I've did read some stories over last few years. German gov is trying to enforce some combat democracy constitution law to put afd illegal, even if that's faulty system with holes. Yet, I'm still jealous of how much German law doing against them.

3

Maybe not diy hrt, but possession of illegal drugs or substance can be a reason to have a closer police encounter. Germany is very much police state, and while legal rights of people are well maintained, there's nothing more Germans love than punishment for illegal activity.
