They became ubiquitous in the Soviet Union, and today curd snacks remain popular in the former Soviet Union, such as the Baltic states (kohuke in Estonia), Russia (Russian: творо́жный сыро́к, romanized: tvoróžnyj syrók), Ukraine, Georgia, as well as in some former Soviet-aligned ones, such as Hungary (Túró Rudi), Poland, Romania and Mongolia.
The packaging says white chocolate tho and on the picture it seems like theres some sort of skin on it. I might just go to my local lidl and check if they have it.
I can imagine that they taste like shit. Quark (a soft dairy product commonly found in Germany and Austria, a kind of white cheese) does not really work with any kind of chocolade. And i would not want to know what kind of chemical wizardry they mixed into this to make it rigid and shelf-stable.
In the Netherlands we have "chocoladekwark". It probably tastes ok, I never eat stuff like this. However, the Netherlands being the Netherlands, our big dairy producers have changed quark over the years, and today it's just yoghurt with cream. This way it's easier to produce, but it still fits the definition of quark in the commodities act.

This bad boy is where it's at when it comes to quark at Lidl.
The value is unmatched when trying to get protein in. Cheaper than whey even, and with higher satiation to boot being primarily casein.
It also happens to taste quite good, especially the passion fruit flavour, which I didn't find an image of.
Oh shit, is this like a protein copy of túró rudi? I grew up with those. The proper ones taste really good tho.
Estonia also. They're even exporting them to Finland.

Oh thats pretty cool, tho our copy looks and porbably tastes a bit different. Another surprising thing connecting estonia to hungary i guess
I don't think so. They don't have chocolate covering.

I'm still partial to these:
I do love a bit of nu-trek myself. I'll have one of those and feed a quark bar to my little friend.
made entirely of quarks particles, or if you are fancy enough strange quarks.
I personally prefer up quarks.
